Objective:. This role, will harmonize, coordinate, and target the different commercial efforts globally to maximize the market opportunities. The primary management responsibility will be in portfolio selection, to go to market commercial strategy across geographies with focus on the US market. In-licensing opportunities, commercial strategy by maximizing sales and profitability, market share gain for commercial product portfolio. This role will also set an effective positioning of company's brand messaging together with definable and measurable goals and ensure that they are met.
Key Responsibilities:
New product identification and portfolio selection:
- Provide new products selection recommendations for Generic Formulation and the API business for the focus markets based on analysis of market trends, opportunity, infrastructure, complexity, and internal capabilities.
- Detailed analysis of market, competition, pricing assumptions, volumes, and product presentation.
- Identification of para-iv or first to market opportunity with the IP & Regulatory team.
- Primary and secondary research & analysis for new product identification of complex generics, validation of identified candidates/proposed differentiation and estimate uptake curve/market share for forecasting differentiated products.
- Value and volume forecasts for all new, approved, filed and pipeline formulation and API molecules for resource allocation, capacity planning, strategic decision making, and strategic planning.
- Tracking portfolio progress and expected drug product approval.
Qualitative market event monitoring and competitive intelligence:
- Generate monthly reports summarizing key events including new approvals, NDA/ANDA filings, PIV listings, new launches, new product line extensions, combinations, EXIM data and its impact on Biocon commercial and pipeline portfolio.
- Closely track competitor companies and generate monthly review of their activities and implications for Biocon using IMS, export/Import and other relevant databases.
- Benchmark Biocon performance and productivity vis-à-vis competitor companies based primary and secondary research data.
- Work closely with the commercial team and provide them with analyses/reports insights and collect their feedback for an effective commercial strategy roadmap.
- Analyse sales, market, competitors and market research data to provide Business Insights teams with reports. Publish weekly/monthly product performance updates and analysis. Generate insights based on secondary or primary research data.
- Prepare competition/market intelligence database for Biocon products including key competitors, their DS/DP capacities, key strengths and weaknesses.
New product launch strategy:
- Prepare a comprehensive go to market strategy for the focus market sales team for API, API+ , DTM, Out-licensing or a private/white label strategy.
Business development:
- Drive key-customer relationship
- Identify potential in-licensing, asset buy opportunities for under-development, filed or approved ANDAs and 505b2 drugs, API process technologies for commercialization in focus markets.
- Drive deal negotiation and closure with various internal and external stakeholders.
Education & experience:
- BS/BE/Pharmacist and MBA with 15 to 20 years' experience in relevant role in pharma industry.
