Job Description
We are seeking an experienced SDET with a strong focus on back-end testing and automation. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of our Node.js and Express-based API by developing comprehensive automated tests and integrating them into our CI/CD pipelines. While your primary focus will be on back-end systems, you will also collaborate with our front-end teams to ensure overall system quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Automated Testing & Quality Assurance:
- Help us migrate fully into automated testing from current manual testing.
- Design and implement comprehensive automated tests for our backend API using Jest and Supertest.
- Develop and maintain test suites focused on stability, scalability, performance, and security.
- Continuously improve testing processes and frameworks to ensure maximum test coverage and efficiency.
CI/CD Pipeline Integration:
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
- Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to ensure smooth and efficient deployment processes.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support:
- Work closely with developers, DevOps, and front-end teams to identify quality issues and refine test cases.
- Assist in troubleshooting and debugging by analyzing test results and application logs.
Documentation & Process Improvement:
- Document test cases, test results, and troubleshooting guides for continuous knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to the evolution of our testing strategies and quality assurance practices.
Requirements
Technical Expertise:
- 3+ years of experience testing Node.js and Express-based APIs.
- Strong proficiency in automated testing frameworks, particularly Jest and Supertest.
- Demonstrable experience integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
Back-End Focus:
- Deep understanding of back-end architecture, API design, and performance considerations.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
Full Stack Awareness:
- While your focus is on back-end testing, a basic understanding of front-end technologies and UI/UX principles is valuable for ensuring a holistic testing approach.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail.
