Job Title: Staff FEA

Experience: 5-10 Years

Qualification: BE/Btech

Location: Bangalore

Position Description:
This position is responsible for performing Finite element analysis for various Flowserve products. This position will require working on multiple projects related to product development and customer submittals. Individual is required to coordinate with business unit engineers to ensure overall quality and on-time delivery of customer submittals.

Position Requirements:
Principal Accountabilities:
Understand the requirements for design validation, perform finite element analysis and provide report with good engineering judgment.

Provide solutions to optimize the design and do FEA for site related problems. Perform FEA for linear and non-linear structural analysis, dynamic analysis, thermal analysis, fatigue analysis. Conduct basic engineering calculations (like shaft deflection, pressure boundary evaluation etc.) to validate FEA results. Good Hands on FEA Analysis (ANSYS and Pro-Mechanical). FEA on Pumps and Valves. Carry out Fluid Structural Interface (FSI) analysis

General Accountabilities

Performs work that is varied and complex, under minimal supervision. Consistently applies knowledge of functional concepts and prior experience to work assignments.

Closely interact with customer or GTEC job coordinator, gather all relevant information for each assignment. Conduct specification review to identify alternate design and close reference documents, communicate to customer or GTEC job coordinator if any discrepancy in specification, references; suggest best possible solutions in consultation with team.

Follow established engineering standards and procedures to produce consistent and reliable results. Refer international standards, project specifications, design and Analysis practices approved by design authority.

Check each design for compliance to job specifications; Check design for safety, assembly, maintenance, cost and operation; appropriate materials of construction; load and stress due to assembly, testing and operation. Perform self-checking to ensure high quality on deliverables. Work with Team lead to conduct critical design reviews on high complexity level designs.

Deliver clear and complete analysis reports/documentation/engineering solutions, as per the deliverables of the assignment, ensuring On-time delivery and quality. Timely update the customer/GTEC job coordinator on schedule and effort variances, if any.

Required Skills

FEA Analysis and Stress analysis calculation knowledge. Strong fundamentals of mechanical engineering. Good knowledge in relevant equations. Familiar with manufacturing processes and metallurgy. Awareness of relevant International standards such as ASME, ANSI, API. Excellent analytical and creative skills

7- 10 years of desirable FEA skills which will be added advantage

Masters or Bachelor in engineering

CAD tools viz. AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor, Solid works and Pro/E or any 3D modelling tool. Roto Dynamic Analysis. Computational Fluid Dynamic analysis. Caesar Tool for Piping stress analysis and basic Pipe sizing and stress estimation. Good Knowledge on Pressure gauges/ Transmitters, Flowmeters, accelerometers,

Competencies/SoftSkills Excellent engineering, verbal, written communication, Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to handle changing priorities and multiple tasks. Ability to take decisions and work independently. Good computer skills including general Microsoft applications, e-mail, Excel worksheet. High level of self-motivation, flexibility and self-learning attitude. Collaborate with other teams and business units to get the required information to execute the projects. Knowledge sharing by documentation, Training and coaching colleagues. Provide solutions to resolve the problems in design by consulting colleagues Maintain Flowserve Values and Safety in all aspects. Reward and appreciate other team members. See multiple aspects and inter dependency of components during Design changes. Team player, who is highly self-motivated. Evaluate work, sets priorities and quickly focuses on most critical needs. Problem solving and analytical skills. Report writing and technical memos
