The Legal Department has a number of key operations to meet our obligations to various regulatory oversight and investigative bodies as necessary. Within the Legal Department, the Office of the Secretary (“OTS”) partners with senior management, control groups,

lines of business and corporate units to promote effective governance of the Firm, its branches, subsidiaries and affiliates. OTS also works closely with the Firm’s Board of Directors and is responsible for the coordination of Board meetings and materials.

The Corporate Secretarial - Associate will work under the direction of management and will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight/supervision and execution of the duties. This includes, but is not limited to analyzing Legal Entity data entered within GEMS to ensure data governance and data quality standards are in place, look for efficiencies in business process and work with our technology partners to implement solutions.

Additionally will validate that procedures and controls are adhered to, participate in the annual Risk Control Self-Assessment process to ensure established controls are adequate to mitigate risk. Preparing management reporting evidencing results and recommendations from the reviews will be presented to management. Regular communication with management and issue escalation.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Provide corporate secretarial services, corporate governance and regulatory support to JPM's businesses, subsidiaries and affiliates global
- Develop best practice standards and control framework for JPM
- Demonstrated leadership and people management
- Maintain corporate records, internal databases both electronic and hard copies
- Work on various projects with global locations relating to corporate governance, rationalization of legal entities and corporate secretarial matters
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and within tight deadlines
- Escalate material concerns
- Continuously identify additional areas of process improvements
- Build and foster productive working relationships, including but not limited to OTS colleagues across regions.
- Extraction and mining of data from the source MIS systems
- Ability to analyse the information to be able to present analysis to business
- Ability to handle a very dynamic work environment
- Support ad hoc requests from the business and senior management


- Minimum 5-8 year or more relevant experience.
- Sound knowledge of corporate / company laws in the various jurisdictions.
- Practical knowledge of corporate governance and regulatory framework.
- Must be a self-starter and with ability to work independently.
- Strong analytical, interpretive and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and within tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
- Good teamwork, strong initiative and great independence.
- Degree holder with professional qualification such as a Legal qualification or Associate Company Secretary of Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
- Excellent oral & written communication skills as well as drafting skills
- Proficient with technology; strong skills preferred in MS Office (Excel, Access, Word).
