Market Job Description

Use of this job is restricted to Operational Risk in Corporate Risk. The Operational Risk team, as part of the Independent Risk Management function, is responsible for governance, oversight, and credibly challenging operational risk exposures and risk management practices through monitoring, analyzing and developing standards for remediating risk that arises from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems or external events, while maintaining a balance between risk mitigation and operational efficiency. Provides operational risk expertise and consulting to complex business units for initiatives with high risk, generally spanning multiple business lines. Identifies operational risk issues and may participate in development of risk ratings. Designs and develops complex testing strategies, methodologies and analyses. Evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems and internal controls. Analyzes complex business and/or system changes to determine impact. Provides consulting to business on corrective action plans and effectively managing change. Reports findings and develops business cases to influence executive management or management committee member/head of business on the need for controls to mitigate risk. Identifies training opportunities. Designs, develops and delivers training. Leads implementation of initiatives with moderate to high risk. Internal collaboration with business for oversight of risk management. May interface with Audit, Legal, external agencies, and regulatory bodies on risk related topics. May lead project/virtual teams and may mentor but does not manage other team members.

Market Skills and Certifications

Essential Qualifications

University degree in Business or related discipline.
8-10 years of experience in operational risk, IT systems security, compliance, business process management, or financial services, of which at least 6-8 years must include direct experience in operational risk (technology, information security, third party).
Industry recognized certification such as CISA / CRISC / CISSP

Desired Qualifications Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
Ability to present complex material in a digestible, consumable manner to all levels of management

Other desirable skills experience Broad knowledge of technology risk issues facing financial institutions today, including information security, third party providers, privacy, BCP/technology recovery, Information Life Cycle Management, and other domain risks.
Proven experience with managing technology risk issues.
Experience developing risk metrics and trending reports.
Ability to synthesize data from a variety of sources and deliver results quickly.
Strong organization and detail-oriented skills, with proven ability to manage and prioritize work to meet deadlines despite frequent interruptions.
Highly proactive, able to work both independently and within a collaborative team oriented environment using sound judgment in decision-making.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with virtual and/or geographically dispersed teams.
