We are seeking an outstanding sales consultant to cover primarily India market. This role is part of a regional sales consulting team responsible for the technical pre-sales support of Open Cloud Infrastructure software, including Oracle Linux, Oracle VM and Oracle OpenStack.
Be comfortable engaging at all levels within customers and partner organizations.
Translate customer requirements and IT strategies into deliverable solutions and transformation plans.
Define pre-sales solution architectures and proposals.
Design and participate in technology pilot projects or Proof of Value (POV) activities alongside our customers and partners.
Define value propositions, positioning and differentiation to competitor’s solutions in addressing customer pain points.
Work alongside partners and other third party organizations as required.
Represent Oracle at marketing events and customer events as required.
Lead the delivery of ‘Oracle on Oracle’ solutions to customers.
Define and drive a programmatic pre-sales consulting engagement approach into target accounts and territories.
Support and develop existing customer and partner relationships and skills.
Complete the technical requirement for request for information (RFI) and request for proposal (RFP).
Help drive sales opportunities to successful completion.
Promote the value of professional services in early sales cycle.
Experience & Technical Skills:-
Bachelor Degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
More than 7 years’ experience in pre-sales capacity, consultant role with customer focus, or equivalent experience.
Excellent communication and presentation skills over phone, email, webcast, video and public conference.
Good understand of selling process and selling cycle.
Demonstrable technical curiosity in keeping abreast with new technologies, especially in Open Source Software.
Strong technical knowledge in Linux is a must.
Strong technical knowledge in Virtualization platform: e.g. Xen/KVM.
Past experience with OpenStack, Kubernetes, Dockers and/or Linux Containers.
Good working knowledge of Open Source tools, e.g. Chef/Puppet/Github.
Good conceptual knowledge of DevOps, Big Data, IoT; working knowledge will be an advantage.
Good knowledge of software defined storage and networking.
Possession of industry recognized certifications in Linux, Virtualization, OpenStack, Dockers or similar is highly preferred.
Strong technical solution background with good specialization in one or more areas of the following: Private/Hybrid cloud, Servers, Networking, Storage, BCDR.
Oracle product(s) knowledge, e.g. Oracle database, Oracle middleware is an advantage.
Candidate should have technical proficiency in Linux operating system, Server and Desktop Virtualiazation, Openstack, Kubernetes - Docker and Containers, OS Clustering and Data center Management solution etc.

The primary focus of a Sales Consultant (Pre-sales) is to become an expert in a core set of Oracle products and solutions and to present the value proposition and benefits of our solutions to our partners, prospects and customers and internally to our sales force
As a Senior Sales Consultant you will be responsible for providing presales technical / functional support to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction with minimal supervision, through on-line/in person sales efforts. Acts as a technical resource for less experienced Internet Sales Consultants. Develop and deliver high quality standard Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Present and articulate advanced product features and benefits, product future direction and overall Oracle solutions. Design, validate, and present Oracle software solutions to include advanced product concepts, future direction, and 3rd party complimentary products. Develop and manage reference sites through high quality technical, professional client relationships. Support sales team in online/in-person selling efforts with minimal supervision. Develop and deliver proposed solution to customers. Approximate percentage of face to face interaction with customers to perform responsibilities is 10%
Job duties are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 5 years relevant computer applications or database/tools. Demonstrated proficiency in one multi-user operating system. Through knowledge of system and application design. Strong verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with accounts in complex technical environments. Ability to travel as needed. BS degree or equivalent; advanced degree desirable.
