We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join our construction management team. This is a remote role, with collaboration across project teams based in the US. The Assistant Project Manager will support the Project Manager in overseeing day-to-day project activities, coordinating subcontractors, managing schedules, and ensuring compliance with project requirements. This role is designed for professionals with a robust background in construction management who are eager to grow into leadership roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Scheduling
- Assist the Project Manager in developing and maintaining project schedules.
- Track milestones, critical paths, and update progress reports.
- Support resource allocation and coordination with subcontractors and vendors.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain and track project documentation such as RFIs, submittals, permits, and change orders.
- Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports and dashboards for client and management review.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and client-specific documentation needs.
Site Coordination (Remote Oversight)
- Collaborate with site supervisors and field teams to monitor project execution.
- Address issues related to quality, safety, and progress, escalating to the Project Manager when needed.
- Conduct virtual site meetings and follow-ups with US-based site personnel.
Budget & Procurement Support
- Assist in preparing purchase requests, reviewing vendor quotes, and monitoring procurement timelines.
- Track expenses against budget and flag variances for corrective action.
Stakeholder & Client Communication
- Act as a liaison between clients, consultants, and internal teams.
- Support in preparing meeting minutes, presentations, and follow-up action trackers.
Risk & Quality Management
- Assist in identifying project risks and maintaining a risk register.
- Support QA/QC documentation and ensure adherence to project specifications.
Other Duties
- Participate in project close-out activities, including final inspections, punch lists, and documentation.
- Handle other responsibilities as assigned by the Project Manager.
Shift & Work Details
- Work Mode: Remote (Work From Home, with occasional site visits if required)
- Shift Timing: US Shift (Evening/Night IST to align with US project stakeholders)
- Compensation: Competitive, commensurate with experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s and/or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 3–6 years of relevant construction project management experience.
- Familiarity with project management tools (MS Project,
Primavera P6, Procore, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and project workflows.
- Experience in US-based projects preferred.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
