Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior AI/Machine Learning Engineer who is a strong individual contributor (IC) with extensive hands-on experience in fine-tuning and large-scale training of LLMs/VLMs. This is a highly technical, non-managerial role where you will directly lead training workflows, build scalable pipelines, and collaborate with researchers and customers to deliver cutting-edge model performance.

Key Responsibilities





· Fine-tune and train large-scale LLMs/VLMs using LoRA/QLoRA and other PEFT methods.

· Build reproducible training pipelines with distributed training and mixed precision (DDP, FSDP, DeepSpeed, Accelerate).

· Design and execute robust evaluation frameworks (task-specific metrics, lm-eval-harness, custom benchmarks).

· Translate state-of-the-art research into practical implementations in collaboration with research teams.

· Work directly with customers to validate models against business goals and performance needs.

· Optimize training efficiency through profiling, performance tuning, and system-level improvements.

· Maintain experiment tracking, reproducibility, and structured documentation of model artifacts.

Requirements

· 7+ years of ML/AI engineering experience.

· Strong recent hands-on expertise (last 8–12 months) in fine-tuning and training LLMs/VLMs.

· Expert-level proficiency in PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, and PEFT (LoRA/QLoRA).

· Hands-on experience with distributed training frameworks (DDP, FSDP, DeepSpeed, Accelerate).





· Skilled with evaluation tools such as lm-eval-harness and custom task metrics.

· Proven ability to implement and improve research results from academic papers.

· Robust coding practices in Python, with modular and reproducible implementations.

· Experience with experiment tracking tools (e.g., Weights & Biases, MLflow).

· Excellent collaboration skills to work with researchers and end customers.

Job Type: Contractual / Temporary
Contract length: 2 months

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
