Job Summary:
We’re looking for an experienced and sharp Copy Editor/Business Reporter to join our digital and multimedia team. In this role, you will research and write compelling, timely business news stories for Republic Business’ digital platform — helping millions stay informed about the latest in business and economics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and write engaging business news stories by conducting interviews, analyzing data, and tracking market trends.
- Deliver high-quality, accurate content within tight deadlines,
meeting our strict editorial standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key sources such as business leaders, analysts, and industry experts.
- Stay updated on business and economic trends to produce insightful and authoritative reporting.
- Collaborate with editors, producers, and reporters to develop story ideas, plan coverage, and promote content on social media.
- Optimize articles for SEO, social media, and other digital platforms to maximize reach and engagement.
- Contribute to digital content creation, including videos, podcasts, and infographics.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field.
- 4 - 6 years of experience as a business reporter within a digital news environment.
- Exceptional writing, reporting, and interviewing skills.
- Strong analytical and research capabilities.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with digital content management systems and social media platforms.
- Solid understanding of business and economic concepts.
