The Developer Services (DS) org in Oracles Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) business is building a better OCI Free-Tier by improving the customer experience and adding new services to our portfolio for developers to try, embrace and advocate for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. We inform product,
technology and design decisions through data driven customer insights and intelligent business recommendations. Our Developers run their apps on OCI, and we are on a mission to provide them with efficient, secure and usable cloud-based products and services. This role is available in the Developer Adoption team that leads the OCI Free Tier in Developer Services org. We are addressing exciting challenges at the intersection of cutting-edge hardware infrastructure, customer experience, analytics and services integration in OCI Free Tier. We are scaling up OCI Free Tier for developers who want to not just try OCI but also run light-weight workloads using free services in OCI. Our vision is to make OCI Free Tier the best Cloud Free Tier in the industry by providing a diversity of computing choices and Cloud services to the developers. We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to join the OCI Free Tier team. You will work closely with product and engineering counterparts and be responsible for managing complex, cross-organizational processes and frameworks to foster a structured approach in the team. The role of the TPM differs materially from that of a project manager and a program manager. A TPM is able to drive issues beyond what a traditional program manager can do due to deeper technical skills and expertise. Similarly, a TPM can drive projects in more depth vs. a traditional program manager. This is a very high-visibility role and we are looking for someone with excellent communications skills. Requirements Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across Engineering, Product Management, Operations, Support, and other key stakeholders of OCI Free Tier. Help define and deliver complex programs despite competing priorities by having the ability to influence roadmaps and priorities of key stakeholders. Help define and drive the SCRUM or other operational practices effectively to support Free Tier CX, Services and Infrastructure. This includes maintaining comprehensive project execution related metrics, dashboards and other documentation. Take ownership and drive continuous improvement of ongoing service integration process in OCI Free Tier by collaborating with OCI release management and services teams. Engage with the Oracle cloud infrastructure platform and services teams to ensure seamless services integration with OCI Free Tier. Identify intra-team issues and drive them to resolution autonomously; identify and work with key stakeholders to drive issues to resolution. Build strong relationships across teams to become a force multiplier. Represent the program/team up to the VP level independently and at a higher level with appropriate coaching. Be the most knowledgeable person in the team about the execution, the trade-offs and the whys behind them. Ability to explain your team's analyses and recommendations to leadership while discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers and product managers. Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in response to changing or ambiguous situations, directing changes through appropriate review and approval mechanisms. Experience and Qualifications A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a relevant technology discipline. 7 years of experience in developing and operating consumer or enterprise programs, ideally having experience driving large infrastructure projects. Experience with continuous improvement methods such as Kaizen processes would be a plus. Be a self-starter and can work independently. Maturity, judgment, negotiation/influence skills, analytical skills, and leadership skills. Proven ability to work well with product and engineering teams to establish and maintain processes and frameworks for efficient collaboration and deliveries. Willing to work in a fast-paced environment and adjust to changing priorities while maintaining a can-do attitude. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.
