The local Finance Controller presents a direct reporting line into the Regional Chief Financial Officer for all financial services (including, but not limited to controlling, reporting and business analytics, accounting, treasury and tax), and a dotted-line reporting into the Managing Director India.
The local Finance Controller in the execution of his/her duties, in coordination and under the functional guidance of the Regional CFO and Group corporate finance team, acts as business partner of the local Managing Director to whom the local Finance Controller will provide, at every point in time, maximum transparency with reference to all financial aspects earlier described (controlling,
reporting and business analytics, accounting, treasury and tax) and maximum support in order to grant a timely and effective understanding of each and all the company’s financial aspects.
Being a member of the finance community at Azelis means that the local Finance Controller is able to support the local Managing Director (more in general the whole business community), in gathering a clear and effective understanding of all financial aspects in order to timely and effectively drive decisions that are necessary to promote a sustainable and successful development of the business.
Reporting Line & Location
The Finance Controller presents a direct reporting line into the Asia Pacific Chief Financial Officer, and a dotted-line reporting into the Managing Director India. This role is based in Mumbai, India.
ACCOUNTING & REPORTING:
Drive the implementation and maintenance of accounting processes and financial control of the local entity: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit and Collection, Fixed Assets, Payroll, VAT and Tax reporting, expense control;
Adhere, communicate and implement the group’s accounting policy, responsible for reporting any deviation;
Drive Process Optimization using functions/options of the ERP System (AX 2012) and support local process owners;
Coordinate Month’s End Closing Process and adhere to group time tables;
Coordinate and support local finance staff in the preparation of Year End Closing Process and Statutory Audit process; adhere to group time tables;
Manage local tax risks, support group tax and intercompany pricing policy, maintain transfer pricing policy framework;
Coverage of local GAAP and legal requirements for the local entities.
Direct and manage all financial control matters for the portfolio countries, act as “financial conscience” of the area. Strong link with sales and operations management is required;
Support the local Managing Director and local Business Managers with Strategic Business Planning, Financial advice and ad hoc requests;
Establish appropriate understanding and awareness of financial performance indicators at all levels of the organization; Analyze business performance versus planned and previous performance, search for continuous improvements as regards margin and pricing management;
Prepare the Annual Budget and Forecasting processes for the area of competence and actively participate to the country target-setting process;
Support set-up of management information framework by promoting the use of Microsoft BI and SAP BPC tools;
Ensure transparency and constant questioning of the status quo , hands-on approach in setting up and analyzing customer and product base in cooperation with the local teams;
“Sparring partner” for Managing Director, Business Managers and local Functional Managers across the portfolio countries;
Participate to different Business Projects in the area of commercial excellence, functional finance development and operations improvement;
Support, coach and direct local finance staff while maintaining consistency in policy and accounting treatment across the portfolio countries.
Adhere to the Azelis Group’s treasury guideline and implement cash flow initiatives at country level;
Ensure accuracy of Treasury System (TIP) Monitoring and Forecasting of Cash Position;
Drive OWC improvement of the area of competence and run dedicated action programs to optimize the working capital levels in the countries;
Coordinate Foreign exchange process in alignment with group Treasury;
Ensure compliance with Credit Policies and coordination of Credit insurance process;
Monitor and manage credit risks, set credit limits in accordance with the Internal Rules of Procedure (IRoP).
LEGAL & COMPLIANCE:
Adhere to group policies and procedures (including the IRoP) as well local laws and regulations;
Cooperate with Group Legal on all legal matters (including litigation and corporate housekeeping);
Administration of local insurance policies and act as partner of Group Legal in relation to Azelis group insurance policies;
Perform operations review in the portfolio countries to ensure compliance with policies and procedures and improve operational efficiency (i.e. internal control, efficiency of OWC), in consultation with Regional CFO.
Coordinate local finance team(s) in the portfolio countries;
Monitor human resources/ skills development within the Finance team;
Actively coach and develop the current finance team in the portfolio countries and ensure the development of a talent pool;
Actively recruit and interview in consultation with local HR and the Regional CFO.
Support, challenge and consult with the local Managing Director by acting as a business partner;
Support the implementation and ensure the smooth running of the matrix organization, report into the Managing Director possible problems and propose the relevant solutions;
Ensure that the relevant corporate financial information is cascaded to all staff;
Ensure the motivation of staff by means of an effective and comprehensive communication;
Ensure that all legal and statutory requirements are met and adhered to; Act as legal representative for daily matters.
Qualification & Skills
Economics degree (Master level) with minimum 5 years of experience in operational finance, accounting and controlling, with an emphasis on experience in a best-in-class international environment.
IT literate (Excel, PowerPoint), experience with ERP platforms.
Sense of ownership and drive: self-starter and problem solver who shows a bias for action, acts promptly to remove "roadblocks" and ensures accountability to get things done in a timely manner.
Team player with excellent networking and collaboration skills, able to deal at all levels in the organization, both locally and internationally.
Business-minded, able to manage risks, opportunity and ambiguity.
Good communication and presentation skills.
Fluent English a must-have (both verbal and written communication).
