Job Description
Responsibilities
Utilize Chef, Puppet, and VRA for consistent, automated database provision and configuration changes following DBA standard
Create and maintain Docker and Kubernetes configuration scripts to package, deploy, run, and operate various database platforms in a cloud native environment
Establish data ingress/egress standard patterns for application integration
Performance monitoring and tuning, data management, persistent storage,
and resource management in container environments
Debug container logs to troubleshoot and solve configuration issues
Version and maintain YAML configuration files for consistency and change log.
Develop PowerShell scripts when working with MSSQL
Kubernetes configurations for database - storage, network, database engine, ingress/egress, load balancer, and application access methods
Develop and exercise database backup and recovery routines in Docker
Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience.
DBA experience with SQL Server, MongoDB, or MySQL/MariaDB/PostgreSQL
Minimum 2 years of experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Additional Qualifications
Strong SQL language programming and scripting skills
Understanding of database HA strategies
Strong organizational and time management skills
Communicate/work effectively in a team environment
Chef, VRA, Kubernetes, DevOps, Shell script
