Investment Management Operations - Distribution Middle Office

Business Description

J.P. Morgan Asset Management is one of the largest asset and wealth managers in the world, with assets under supervision of $2.3 trillion and assets under management of $2.6 trillion. J.P. Morgan's investment professionals are located around the world, providing strategies that span the full spectrum of asset classes.

The Platform Management Group manages the JP Morgan Institutional and Retail funds and oversees Fund accounting, Funds administration, and custody. The Group is also responsible of the Financial Reporting preparation and review, Pricing Oversight, NAV Oversight, Expense Budgeting, Tax and Performance Oversight,

as well as making decisions related to Line of Credit and Securities Lending. The Funds Middle Office Operations Group supports the Platform Management Group, performing these primary functions: (a) Asses controls established, close gaps, and create efficiencies within various teams that interact with the US Funds, (b) drives process improvement projects, (c) acts as a central point of contact for Funds within Operations.

In Conjunction with these responsibilities, the Funds Middle Office Group is also responsible for the Oversight of our Proprietary NAV client accounts.

Role Outline

The incumbent is responsible for providing ongoing operational support by performing such tasks as:

Daily review of Over drafts, and Recon exceptions that could potentially impact the Fund's NAV

Validate that funds are set up with a sweep vehicle, investigate funds that do not invest over a period of a month and report total un-invested cash balances for collateral purposes. Ensure interest was paid on any un-invested cash balances.

Complete checks on Fund Trades to ensure that requirements set forth in the DOT (Declaration of Trust) were met. Periodically Review funds eligibility to trade certain types of securities.

End to end Transitions booking (Account Opening, Asset Transfer, Account Closing, Share Class Exchange etc.) on Internal Investment Accounting Platform.

Reconciliation of Client Directed Cashflows.

Ensure proper documentation and sign offs received for Audit purposes related to different Fund Event types.

Assist in the Audit Confirm process.

Ensure proper invoicing from Third Party Vendors.

Central point of contact for all Fund Types related activities / questions.

Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (or better) from an accredited, high-quality institution

Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience

Ability to manage concurrent assignments effectively and efficiently

Excellent analytical, problem solving, time management, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills

Team player and adaptable to a changing environment

Ability to influence people, lead discussions, and troubleshoot issues

Proficiency with Microsoft products - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio
