Your Role and Responsibilities

Role: Service Availability Manager



POSITION SUMMARY:



- Individuals performing this role focus on the Availability Management for GTS Infrastructure Services Clients.

- They work to optimize the availability of IT infrastructure,

systems and services to meet the commitments IBM has made to its clients related to availability target levels in a cost-effective manner.

- They use their technical and client environment knowledge to assure services and components are designed and delivered to meet their availability targets.

- They provide a holistic view of the client’s environment and make recommendations to improve overall service availability.

- They are responsible to develop and maintain Availability Plans which prioritizes and plans IT availability.

- They monitor IT availability levels by comparing actual levels against targets and addressing shortfalls



Core Responsibilities:



- Individuals performing this role focus on the Availability Management for GTS Infrastructure Services Clients.

- They work to optimize the availability of IT infrastructure, systems and services to meet the commitments IBM has made to its clients related to availability target levels in a cost-effective manner.

- They use their technical and client environment knowledge to assure services and components are designed and delivered to meet their availability targets.

- They provide a holistic view of the client’s environment and make recommendations to improve overall service availability.

- They are responsible to develop and maintain Availability Plans which prioritizes and plans IT availability.

- They monitor IT availability levels by comparing actual levels against targets and addressing shortfalls.

- Individuals in this role lead the Service Management team and are accountable for providing integrated management across one or more Service Management processes for the full scope of the IBM account (or accounts) supported.

- Individuals performing this work in support of a GTS Infrastructure Services client and cover the scope of all GTS-led delivery.

- They are responsible to provide integrated management and coordination of Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Availability Management, Release Management, Deployment Management, and Knowledge Management.

- They use the Hybrid Service Integration methodology and Service Management Integration global process in support of providing end-to-end service management to the clients they support





Required Technical and Professional Expertise



- Candidates with over 12 years of remote infrastructure management experience

- This role ensures client needs for integration across services and “as-a-service” (xaaS) offerings are met through successful representation and integration of the service into the full portfolio services being delivered as part of a client solution.

- They also work to ensure integration of services into a GTS-led account.

- Service Availability Managers with this skill set understand and use the Hybrid Services Integration (HSI) methodology to represent “as-a-service” service(s) into an integrated seamless solution for the GTS client.

- They function as SMEs on the services they represent to the client and account team and work with the service delivery teams to ensure client requirements are being met.

- Candidate should have good communication, presentation and negotiation skills.

- Candidate should be able to understand the client environment and able to propose enhancements / developments.
