RFP Function

As part of the new business process Fidelity is asked to complete detailed new business Request for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs) and Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs). Potential institutional clients request this information in order to evaluate our company, products and services, and ultimately make major investment decisions worth hundreds of millions of dollars. It is vital that Fidelity provides these groups with up-to-date, high quality documents which communicate our marketing message clearly and generate interest in Fidelity’s capabilities - the RFP Specialist is responsible for producing these documents.

The Role

This role is within the new RFP team based in India.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing tailored written responses to prospect and client requests in the wholesale and institutional channels which communicate Fidelity’s competitive advantages and product features in a clear and compelling proposal.

The role is a key part of the asset gathering and retention process related to clients based in the UK, Continental Europe, Middle East, Africa, and South America.

Key Responsibilities

- Liaison with all global RFP contributor teams to drive change and process and structural improvements

- Produce high quality sales documents and that demonstrate a competitive advantage in the market 

- Capacity management - manage workflow to ensure deadlines are met

- Reviewing/editing final drafts of team’s proposals/documents before they are sent to sales teams for final review to ensure we have the highest quality responses

- Represent the RFP team in meetings with other SMEs/ team heads

- Pre-empt/address issues internally/with SMEs as they relate to the efficiency of the RFP process to enable team to concentrate directly on their work

Experience and Qualifications Required

Relevant Experience and Qualifications:

- Track record in investment management or investment marketing related roles

- Ability to drive collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders

- Experience in writing high quality proposals for institutional clients and of consultant database management

- Applied knowledge of the investment industry and markets, as well as a developed understanding of investment products and portfolios and how fund management firms operate


- A dynamic individual who is willing to accept new challenges and changes, with a high level of responsibility, adaptability and flexibility

- Self-motivated and enthusiastic - well organised, reliable, capable and able to prioritise and handle multiple deadline-oriented projects

- Able to mix strategic thinking with practical “hands-on” application

- Excellent communication skills for effective communication with Investment and sales teams, and in order to work with people at all levels within the Company

- Attention to detail and a high level of quantitative and qualitative accuracy

- A team player who can support others

- Persistent and personable with strong cultural sensitivities when dealing with overseas Fidelity offices

- PC literacy – Word, PowerPoint and Excel in particular
