Business Application Engineer required to join a global technology services group, responsible for managing and supporting a large and complex environment comprising of more than 19 global data centers, 15,000+ servers, 50+ petabytes of data and multiple large-scale business critical applications.
The Business Application Engineering team provides 2nd and 3rd line support for both commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications and internally developed applications hosted in Epiq datacenters. This team’s core responsibility include application deployments, upgrades, configurations, license renewals and technical troubleshooting. Supported platforms include content management, document processing,
end-user tools and managed file transfer platforms.
The ideal candidate would identify as a technical generalist experienced working with desktops, servers, virtualization, networking and support & administration of database web-based applications, and has had a past background on a help desk.
This role participates in a broad range of duties including application installations, performance tuning, and configuration management, security hardening and being able to build automation scripts. This is a fast pace environment and you will be expected to be able to multi-tasking, work largely unsupervised on different projects and support tickets. Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with other technical teams is essential.
BAE team members are required to learn different eDiscovery specific platforms, gaining sufficient knowledge to perform installations, take lead in version upgrades and perform maintenance routines such as license renewals and throughput planning.
The BAE team member will apply their problem-solving skills to diagnose and address application issues, troubleshooting to determine root-cause and engage with appropriate teams to drive towards a resolution.
This role requires participation in an on-call rotation with other team members
- minimal of 3 years supporting Windows operating systems,
- advanced networking concepts,
- familiar with SQL database,
- web server configurations,
- application deployment and troubleshooting.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Will be customer service oriented, hands-on, with ability to work both at the tactical day-to-day level and at the strategic planning level
- Should be a self-motivator, capable of mastering unfamiliar platforms, coordinating training opportunities with software vendors and other SMEs.
- Any knowledge of Legal Transcription, Electronic Data Discovery, and Reprographics technology is preferable, but not required
- Proven track record of implementing medium scale application deployments and platform configurations.
B.S. in Information Technology or Computer Science, or equivalent experience. Qualified candidates will have at least 3 years of applicable experience: MCSE candidates preferred
