Business Application Engineering – Application Engineer
Business Application Engineer required to join a global technology services group, responsible for supporting a large and complex environment comprising of more than 19 global data centers, 15,000+ servers, 50+ petabytes of data and multiple large-scale business critical applications.
The Business Application Engineering team provides 2nd and 3rd line support for both commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications and internally developed applications hosted in Epiq datacenters. This team’s core responsibility include application deployments, upgrades, configurations, license renewals and technical troubleshooting.
Supported platforms include content management, document processing, end-user tools and managed file transfer platforms.
The ideal candidate would identify as a technical generalist, experienced working with desktop and server application administration.
This role participates in a broad range of duties including hands-on application installs, reconfiguration and documentation maintenance, along with regular system monitoring duties. This is a fast pace environment and you will be expected to be able to multi-tasking, work largely unsupervised on different projects and support tickets. Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with other technical teams is essential.
BAE team members are required to learn different eDiscovery specific platforms, gaining sufficient knowledge to perform installations, take lead in version upgrades and perform maintenance routines such as license renewals and throughput planning. The BAE team member will apply their strong application support and installation skills to help maintain and reduce any backlog of open requests and incident tickets within the SNOW ticketing system.
This role requires participation in an on-call rotation with other team members
Skills/Qualifications: minimal of 3 years supporting Windows operating systems, application install and platform support. Advanced familiarity with networking concepts, application deployment and troubleshooting.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Will be service oriented and hands-on, with ability to work with peers to maintain documentation and perform software installations and maintenance tasks.
- Should be a self-motivator, comfortable researching unfamiliar technologies and compute environments to generate documentation, seeking additional opportunities with software vendors and other SMEs to update and maintain technical document repository.
- Any knowledge of Electronic Data Discovery, Document Review technology is preferable, but not required
- Candidates that can demonstrate a strong PowerShell, shell/cmd scripting or similar scripting abilities, in support application deployment and automation will be highly considered
B.S. in Information Technology or Computer Science, or equivalent experience. Qualified candidates will have at least 3 years of applicable experience:
