Job Description:
Job Title: Network Engineer – Level 1 (L1) – Managed Network Services
Location: Mangalore, India
Experience – 2 Year+

Role Purpose
As a Network Engineer (L1), you will be part of the managed network services team, providing first-line support for network infrastructure, monitoring, incident management and configuration tasks. Your primary objective is to ensure that client network services remain operational, efficient and within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Key Responsibilities
Monitor client network infrastructure and solutions, identifying issues and errors proactively.
Investigate first-line incidents, evaluate root causes of standard or low-complexity issues, and take corrective or documented actions.
Fulfil approved service requests (for example: configuration changes, patching, basic upgrades) following defined procedures and SOPs.
Provide telephonic/chat/ticket support for network incidents, updating the ticketing/ITSM system (for example : ServiceNow) and keeping clients informed.
Participate in shift hand-overs, ensuring continuity of service and proper documentation of outstanding tasks/incidents.
Update or create knowledge-articles / documentation for incident resolution, workarounds or best-practices.
Identify opportunities for work optimisation,



such as automation of repetitive tasks, reduction of common incidents, or process improvement.
Support maintenance activities and change management under supervision: assist with staging, installations, small network projects (low complexity) or upgrades.
Escalate incidents that cannot be resolved at L1 in line with defined escalation procedures.

Required Skills & Knowledge
Basic network concepts: routing, switching, TCP/IP, VLANs, NAT, etc.
Familiarity (or willingness to learn) commonly used network technologies and vendors: e.g., Cisco (Nexus, ISR/ASR), Meraki, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc.
Basic understanding of monitoring tools and ITSM/ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow).
Positive communication skills, ability to work across cultures/teams, positive attitude and adaptability under pressure.
Willingness to work shifts, including nights/weekends as needed (in a 24×7 managed services environment).
Educational qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or equivalent. Some job posts also specify CCNA certification or equivalent as a plus

Preferred Certifications & Experience
CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or equivalent vendor certification would be a plus.
