Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically strong Application Support Engineer with 2–3 years of experience in supporting web-based applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on scripting experience, excellent SQL skills, and solid debugging capabilities. This role involves working closely with engineering, product, and customer-facing teams to identify, analyze, and resolve application issues across the stack.
The candidate should be comfortable tracing code workflows, analyzing logs, and determining whether issues originate from the frontend (UI), backend services, or database layers. A strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities
Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues reported by internal teams or customers.
Analyze production incidents by tracing code execution, logs, and database queries.
Write and debug scripts in Python and/or Ruby to automate investigations, fixes, or support workflows.
Write, analyze,



and optimize complex SQL queries to identify data-related issues.
Determine root cause by identifying whether an issue lies in the UI, backend services, APIs, or database .
Collaborate with engineering teams to escalate bugs and validate fixes.
Monitor application health, logs, and alerts to proactively identify potential issues.
Document incidents, root cause analyses (RCA), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Provide timely updates and clear communication to stakeholders during incident resolution.

Mandatory Skill/Requirement
2–3 years of experience in Application Support, Production Support, or a similar role .
Strong scripting experience in Python and/or Ruby .
Very strong SQL skills , including writing complex joins, subqueries, and performance analysis.
Excellent code debugging skills with the ability to trace end-to-end code workflows.
Strong understanding of web application architecture and APIs.
Proven ability to identify whether an issue is a frontend (UI) issue or a backend/database issue.
Familiarity with logs, monitoring tools, and error tracking systems.
Experience with version control systems such as Git .
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice to Have
Exposure to Ruby on Rails or other backend frameworks.
Experience supporting applications hosted on AWS, GCP, or other cloud platforms .
Familiarity with REST APIs , HTTP status codes, and request/response debugging.
Knowledge of Docker or containerized environments.
Experience with ticketing systems, incident management, and SLAs.
Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
