Role Summary
The Supply Chain Executive Non-Medical Procurement will support the Head of Department in managing end-to-end non-medical procurement operations for the hospital. The role focuses on strategic sourcing, vendor management, cost optimization, inventory control, and process compliance while ensuring uninterrupted availability of non-medical supplies and services across the unit.
Roles & Responsibilities
Act as the second-in-command to the HOD, supporting day-to-day procurement operations and decision-making.
Manage end-to-end non-medical procurement including consumables, engineering spares, housekeeping supplies, F&B; items, IT hardware, furniture, linen, uniforms, and services.
Review and process purchase requisitions, ensure timely issuance of purchase orders, and monitor delivery schedules.
Identify, evaluate, empanel, and manage vendors; conduct negotiations to achieve cost efficiencies without compromising quality.
Ensure compliance with organizational procurement policies, financial controls, and audit requirements.
Monitor inventory levels and consumption trends to prevent stock-outs or excess inventory.
Coordinate closely with Finance for budgeting, GRN, invoice validation, and payment processing.
Oversee AMC, rental agreements,
and service contracts for non-medical equipment and services.
Analyze procurement data, vendor performance, and cost reports to support strategic decisions.
Handle escalations related to vendor delays, quality issues, and supply disruptions.
Support procurement planning for new projects, renovations, expansions, and special initiatives.
Mentor and guide junior procurement and stores team members to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to SOPs.
Step in as acting HOD during absence and represent the department in cross-functional meetings.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of non-medical procurement and supply chain processes in a hospital workplace
Vendor negotiation and contract management expertise
Budgeting, cost control, and spend analysis
Strong coordination with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Facilities, Housekeeping, IT, F&B;, Finance)
Working knowledge of ERP/HIS procurement modules
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Qualifications
Graduation in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field
Postgraduate qualification preferred
