Role Overview

n

We are looking for a Senior Big Data Engineer with experience in ClickHouse, advanced SQL, and distributed data architectures.

n

You will own the design and optimization of our analytics layer — from raw ingestion to highly optimized analytical queries powering AI-driven decision systems.

n

This is not a generic ETL role.

n

This is a high-performance analytics engineering role.

n

What You’ll Do

n

ClickHouse & Query Engineering

n

- Write and optimize complex analytical queries using:
- Advanced window functions
- Multi-stage aggregations
- JOIN optimizations
- Subquery refactoring
- Optimize partitioning, primary keys, sorting keys, and indexing strategies
- Implement TTL strategies, materialized views, and projections

n

Data Architecture & Pipelines

n

- Build scalable **ETL/ELT pipelines** for batch and near-real-time data
- Design streaming architectures using Kafka or similar systems
- Handle data ingestion from multiple services and external sources

n

Distributed Systems & Scale

n

- Design reliable batch and streaming flows between services
- Implement data backfills and reprocessing strategies

n

Workflow Orchestration

n
- Build and manage workflows using Temporal or Airflow




- Handle failure scenarios, retries, and observability of pipelines

n

Required Skills

n
- Strong hands-on experience with ClickHouse in production
- Expertise in writing highly optimized SQL (advanced aggregations, window functions, performance tuning)
- Deep understanding of ClickHouse internals:
- MergeTree engines
- Partitioning strategies
- Materialized views
- TTL
- Replication & sharding
- Experience building batch + streaming architectures
- Proficiency in Java (preferred) and/or Python
- Experience with Kafka or similar event streaming systems
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and data modeling
- Experience handling large-scale datasets (1000GB+ ideally TB-scale)
