Key Responsibilities

n

- GeoSpatial Data Engineering

n
- Design and implement geospatial data models integrating internal and external datasets
- build scalable pipelines on Google BigQuery (GCP) for large-scale spatial analytics
- Standardize spatial hierarchies (ZIP, census, trade areas, drive-time polygons)
- Integrate datasets from Esri, Placer.ai, competitor POI sources, and demographic providers

2. Analytics & Decision Modelingn
- Develop metrics such as: Market Chance Score, Competitor Pressure Index, Store Health Score
- Build models for: Trade area analysis, Cannibalization detection, Store performance prediction
- Support scenario simulations (open / close / relocate)

3. Visualization & Dashboardingn
- Build custom geospatial dashboards using tools like: Looker / Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI, ArcGIS JS / Mapbox
- Enable drill-down capabilities from national → store → trade area
- Design executive-ready,

4. Data Integration & External Ecosystemn
- Work with multiple third-party datasets: Demographics (Esri, Census), Mobility (Placer.ai, SafeGraph), Competitor intelligence (Foursquare, AggData)
- Ensure data quality, normalization, and governance

Core Technicaln

- Strong expertise in Google BigQuery (must-have)
- Advanced SQL and data modeling
- Experience with GeoSpatial functions (GIS, spatial joins, polygons, shapefiles)
- Python for data processing (GeoPandas, Shapely preferred)

Visualizationn

- Hands-on experience in Tableau / Looker / Power BI
- Experience with map-based visualization frameworks (Mapbox, ArcGIS JS, Kepler.gl) Domain Expertise
- Experience in Retail, Location Intelligence, or GeoAnalytics
- Understanding of: Trade area analysis, Customer segmentation, Mobility / foot traffic analytics
