About the prospect

We are a home furnishings manufacturing business building a technology platform on top of our manufacturing foundation. We need one engineer to build the complete backend infrastructure from the ground up. The technical specification is complete — every workflow, every AI agent, every database, and every integration is documented in detail. Your job is to read the spec, scope the work, and build it.

This is a serious, multi-tool AI and automation stack. If you have shipped production-grade work on n8n, Claude API, and Notion before, you will know within 30 minutes of reading the spec whether this is the right project for you.

There is potential for ongoing work as the platform scales. We are hiring for the build scope first.

What the work involves

Building and connecting a set of AI agents, automation workflows, databases, and signal intelligence tools that work together as a single platform operating system. The scope includes:

- Multi-modal AI agents that process images and produce structured outputs written to a Notion data layer
- Scheduled and event-driven automation pipelines including a multi-step delivery pipeline with defined SLA monitoring
- A Notion-based data layer with multiple interconnected databases, a calculated scoring tool, and a document generation flow via Google Docs API
- Web scraping via Apify actors for multiple data sources on scheduled and event-triggered runs
- A real-time signal intelligence configuration in Clay across multiple source types and a composite scoring model
- A research data pipeline connecting multiple third-party APIs to a central intelligence store
- Five role-specific AI assistant instances in Slack connected to Claude via OpenClaw,



each trained on structured output formats and hard operational boundaries

Everything is specified. You build to the spec, test against defined acceptance criteria, document what you have built, and hand over cleanly to the internal team.

What we need from you

- n8n — production-level experience building complex multi-step workflows. Webhooks, scheduled triggers, conditional routing, API calls, error handling, and retry logic. Real builds that teams depend on.
- Claude API — experience building structured AI agents with prompt engineering for consistent, parseable outputs. Multi-modal input handling including base64-encoded images.
- OpenClaw — hands-on experience configuring OpenClaw or equivalent AI assistant platforms (Dust, Lindy, custom Slack-Claude integrations). Connecting instances to downstream tools and setting hard operational boundaries.
- Apify — Playwright-based actor builds. You understand scrapers break and build with maintainability in mind.
- Notion API — Notion as a data layer for automation. Databases, relations, formula fields, and API reads and writes — not Notion as a note-taking tool.
- Python — comfortable writing Python scripts inside an n8n Execute Command node.
- API integrations — Google Docs API, Typeform webhooks, Slack API, Google Drive API, Clay, DocuSign. Comfortable with API documentation and building without pre-built connectors.
- Discipline — builds to a spec, tests against defined criteria, documents clearly, and hands over in a way the internal team can maintain.
- Availability — this is a focused project that needs proper time. Not looking for someone fitting it in between five other engagements.

Nice to have

Prior experience on a similar stack — n8n plus Claude API plus Notion as the data layer. Familiarity with Clay's native integrations and HTTP request node approach. Experience chaining structured AI agent outputs into downstream automation.
