Shared Services Finance Manager (India)

Location: India

Reporting to: Head of Finance / Group Finance

Scope: Global (UK, US, Ireland, South Africa, India)

Role Purpose

To build, lead and optimise a centralised Shared Services function supporting the global finance operation. This role will be responsible for delivering efficient, standardised, and high-quality transactional finance processes across all regions.

This is a build + run role—not just managing an existing team, but transforming it into a structured, scalable shared service centre.

Key Responsibilities

1. Shared Services Leadership

- Lead and develop the India-based finance operations team (AP, AR, Payroll, Billing, Treasury support)
- Act as the primary owner of day-to-day service delivery across all regions
- Build a high-performance, accountable team with transparent roles and responsibilities

2. Process Ownership & Standardisation

- Implement and enforce standardised global processes across:
- Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
- Order-to-Cash (O2C)
- Record-to-Report (R2R support)
- Eliminate regional variations and drive consistency
- Document and continuously improve all core processes

3. Service Delivery & SLAs

- Define, implement, and manage SLAs across all finance processes
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of:
- Invoice processing
- Collections
- Payroll processing
- Journals and reconciliations
- Track performance via KPIs and address gaps proactively

4. Month-End Close Support

- Own execution of transactional elements of the close:
- Journal postings
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Intercompany processing
- Ensure deadlines are met in line with global close calendar

5. Stakeholder Management

- Partner with UK and US finance leads to ensure service quality
- Act as the central point of contact for all shared service activities
- Manage expectations and resolve escalations effectively

6. Systems & Automation

- Work closely with global finance on ERP and system improvements




- Drive automation and reduce manual processes
- Ensure effective use of finance systems and tools

7. Controls & Compliance

- Ensure adherence to internal controls and finance policies
- Support audit requirements and maintain documentation standards
- Identify and mitigate operational risks

8. Continuous Improvement

- Identify efficiency opportunities and cost savings
- Implement best practices in shared services delivery
- Drive a culture of process excellence and accountability

Key KPIs

- SLA adherence (e.g. invoice processing times, close deadlines)
- Month-end close timeline (target: <5 days)
- Accuracy rates (recs, payroll, billing)
- Reduction in manual processes
- Cost per transaction
- Stakeholder satisfaction (UK/US teams)

Experience & Profile

Essential:

- 7–12+ years in finance operations / shared services
- Proven experience running or building a Shared Service Centre
- Strong understanding of P2P, O2C, R2R processes
- Experience supporting multi-country operations
- Track record of process improvement and standardisation

Preferred:

- Experience working with UK and/or US entities
- Exposure to scaling finance functions in high-growth businesses
- ERP experience (NetSuite, SAP, Dynamics, etc.)

This role requires someone who can build structure, enforce standards, and drive change—not just manage a team. They will play a key role in transforming the finance function into a scalable global model.
