Role Description

HICV is seeking a Senior Data Engineer with solid hands-on experience in Snowflake, ELT pipeline development, and data warehousing best practices . This role focuses on building , optimizing , and maintaining data pipelines and curated data models that support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence efforts across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, build, and maintain robust ELT pipelines using SQL and Python.
- Develop efficient data ingestion processes for databases, APIs, cloud storage, and flat files.
- Implement transformation workflows using Snowflake features (Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, stages, stored procedures).
- Create and maintain dimensional and subject-area data models supporting analytics and reporting.
- Build high-quality curated layers (staging, integration, semantic layers) following data warehousing best practices.
- Ensure data meets accuracy, consistency, and performance standards.
- Optimize Snowflake SQL, virtual warehouse usage, and storage to improve performance and minimize cost.
- Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement tuning strategies.
- Implement data quality rules, profiling checks, and monitoring frameworks.
- Ensure solutions adhere to corporate data governance, security, and compliance standards.
- Maintain strong documentation for transformations, lineage, and system processes.




- Partner with data architects to align engineering work with high-level architecture.
- Work closely with analytics, BI, and product teams to understand data needs and deliver reliable datasets.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to establishing engineering best practices.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and support release management, versioning, and CI/CD workflows.

Skills & Qualifications

- 7+ years of experience in data engineering or data warehouse engineering roles.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and solid experience using Python for data processing.
- Hands-on expertise with Snowflake (warehouse management, roles, data modeling, Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, Time Travel, etc.).
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts (Kimball, star/snowflake schemas, dimensional modeling).
- Experience building scalable ELT pipelines and working with large datasets.
- Familiarity with Azure cloud services (ADLS, ADF, Azure Functions, Key Vault, etc.).
- Experience with modern orchestration/transformation tools (e.g.Azure Data Factory).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for building reliable data systems.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Snowflake SnowPro Core or Data Engineer certification.
- Experience with CI/CD (GitHub, Azure DevOps, etc.).
- Experience supporting BI platforms (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
