Customer Service Representative – Job Description
Overview:
The Customer Service Representative serves as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing questions, resolving complaints, and providing information about products and services. The role requires strong communication skills, patience, and a customer-focused attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, chat, or in person
- Resolve product or service problems by clarifying customer complaints and determining solutions
- Process orders, forms, applications, and requests
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions
- Follow up to ensure customer satisfaction and issue resolution
- Provide product and service information to customers
- Escalate complex issues to appropriate departments when necessary
- Handle returns, refunds, or exchanges according to company policy
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Robust problem-solving abilities
- Patience and ability to handle difficult customers
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with CRM systems
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred in some cases)
