FACULTY RECRUITMENT NOTIFICATION – 2026

Applications are invited from qualified, passionate, and research-oriented candidates for Faculty Positions in the Department of Psychology (Counselling Stream) at PSGR Krishnammal College for Women (Autonomous), Coimbatore — a leading institution committed to academic excellence and holistic education.

Discipline: M.Sc. Counselling Psychology

Positions Available: Assistant Professor / Associate Professor

Educational Qualification (As per UGC / Bharathiar University Norms):

- Ph.D. in Psychology or Counselling Psychology is mandatory for Assistant Professor.
- Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology / Applied Psychology / Clinical Psychology or equivalent with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade).

Experience Required:

- Assistant Professor: Minimum 1 years of teaching / research / clinical experience with publications in refereed journals, counselling experience with proven academic leadership and research guidance record.

Areas of Specialization (Preferred):

- Counselling and Psychotherapy
- Clinical and Abnormal Psychology
- Psychological Testing and Assessment
- Guidance and Career Counselling




- Behavioural Modification and Positive Psychology
- Child and Adolescent Counselling
- Research Methodology and Psychological Statistics

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Teach and mentor students in undergraduate and postgraduate psychology programs.
- Supervise student dissertations, internships, and field training in counselling practice.
- Design and update curriculum aligned with NEP 2020 and emerging psychological research.
- Conduct and publish research in recognized journals.
- Facilitate mental health awareness programs, workshops, and extension activities.
- Collaborate with hospitals, NGOs, and wellness centres for field training and outreach.
- Contribute to the institution’s Student Wellness and Counselling Centre initiatives.

Desirable Attributes:

- Strong theoretical knowledge combined with clinical or counselling practice experience.
- Proficiency in psychometric testing, data analysis, and documentation.
- Empathetic and student-centered approach to teaching and mentoring.
- Commitment to promoting holistic well-being and emotional health among students.
