Akaththi STEP Internship Program

If mushrooms excite you more than exam marks… you’re our kind of person.

We’re picking 2 students every month for a 1-month, fully onsite learning journey inside our farm and research space. No theory marathons. No boring lectures. Just real work, real cultures, real fungi.

If you're a current student who wants to understand fungi by actually working with them (not just reading about them), STEP is for you.

What you’ll actually do:

• Hold your first tissue culture plate

• Make fresh spawn (yes, it smells amazing)

• Prepare substrates the right way

• Run daily farm operations

• Spot contamination like a detective

• Learn how mushrooms “behave” when no one rushes them

What you’ll walk away with:

• STEP Internship Certificate





• Hands-on Mushroom Cultivation Certificate

• Tissue Culture & Spawn Production Certificate

• Real experience that builds confidence (not just a line in your resume)

Who can apply (Students Only):

BSc / MSc students in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Agriculture, Plant Pathology —

OR… anyone genuinely curious about fungi and wants to learn by doing.

? Starts this April 2026 (9 am to 5 pm)

? Intake: 2 students per month

? Completion Reward: ₹3,000 (Unpaid, Learning-first program)
