- *Role Overview:**

nThe Wire Cut (EDM) Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining Wire Cut EDM machines to manufacture high-precision components, molds, dies,n

and tooling as per drawings and specifications, ensuring quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

- *Key Responsibilities**
- *1. Wire Cut EDM Operations**

n Operate Wire Cut EDM machines to manufacture precision components, punches, dies,n

molds, and inserts.

n

 Program, edit, and optimize CNC wire cut programs as per drawings and job requirements.

n

 Select appropriate wire, dielectric/flushing parameters, and cutting conditions for different materials.

n





 Monitor machining operations to achieve required dimensional accuracy and surface finish.

n

Machine

nSetup & Programming**n

 Set up workpieces, fixtures, reference points, and zero settings on Wire Cut EDM machines.

n

 Load, modify, and troubleshoot CNC programs.

n

 Adjust parameters such as wire tension, feed rate, voltage, pulse settings, and flushing pressure.

n

 Conduct trial cuts and fine-tune programs to meet tight tolerances.

n

Quality

n

Inspection**

n Read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T; symbols, and specifications.n

 Inspect machined components using precision measuring instruments such as verniers,

micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, and profile projectors.

n

 Ensure finished parts meet dimensional and quality requirements.

n

 Maintain inspection and job records for traceability.

n

- *4. Documentation & Compliance**

n Follow SOPs and work instructions related to wire cut operations.n

 Maintain documentation for job parameters, machine usage, maintenance, and calibration records.

n

 Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO standards, and applicable safety regulations.

n

 Report deviations, non-conformances, or machine/tool issues to Engineering or Quality departments.

 Replace consumables such as wire, filters, and dielectric fluids as required.

 Use PPE and follow all safety protocols.

 Handle materials, wires, and consumables safely to avoid damage or contamination.

 Follow safety and contamination control guidelines applicable to medical device manufacturing environments.

 Suggest improvements to programs, cutting strategies, and processes to improve productivity and accuracy.

 Support initiatives to reduce cycle time, scrap, and rework.

n

 Coordinate with Tool Room, Production, and Engineering teams to meet production and project timelines.

n

 Guide or assist junior operators when required.

n

- *Qualifications & Skills**

n ITI / Diploma in Tool & Die Making, Machining, or a related field.n

 Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Wire Cut EDM operations.

n

 Robust knowledge of CNC programming, wire cut parameters, and tooling.

n

 Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.;

n

 Proficiency in using precision measuring and inspection instruments.

n

 Familiarity with GMP, ISO standards, and industrial safety practices (preferred).
