Azure Network & Firewall Engineer

Job Title : Azure Network Security Engineer

Experience: 6-12 years overall 3+ years in Azure

Location: Bangalore

Shift : Australia Shift Timing (4:30 AM to 01:00 PM IST)

Mode: Hybrid

Job Summary:

- We are seeking an experienced Azure Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and support secure cloud and hybrid network environments.
- The role combines strong hands-on expertise in Azure networking and Azure Firewall with foundational knowledge of enterprise networking technologies, including Cisco routing switching, wireless, and Palo Alto firewalls.
- The ideal candidate will work across cloud and on-prem environments, collaborating with infrastructure, security, and application teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable network solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Azure Networking Design, deploy, and manage Azure virtual networks VNets, subnets, UDRs, and VNet peering Implement and support Azure networking services including:
- Azure Load Balancer o Application Gateway WAF o Azure Traffic Manager
- Azure Front Door Configure and manage hybrid connectivity using Azure VPN Gateway and ExpressRoute Plan and manage IP addressing, subnetting, and routing for enterprise-scale environments
- Troubleshoot complex network connectivity and performance issues across Azure and hybrid setups
- Azure Firewall Network Security Deploy, configure, and manage Azure Firewall Standard Premium Create and maintain:
- Network rules
- Application rules
- NAT DNAT SNAT rules Implement Network Security Groups NSGs and Application Security Groups ASGs Integrate firewall and network logs with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Microsoft Sentinel Support security best practices including Zero Trust, least privilege, and secure outbound access Assist with security incidents, audits, and compliance requirements




- Hybrid On-Prem Networking Secondary Provide support and integration for on-premises networking environments including:
- Cisco routing and switching LANWAN, VLANs, OSPFBGP fundamentals
- Cisco Wireless basic configuration, troubleshooting, and integration Support connectivity between on-prem networks and Azure using VPN and ExpressRoute Collaborate with network teams on routing, firewall changes, and connectivity troubleshooting
- Firewall Technologies Secondary Basic to intermediate experience with Palo Alto firewalls, including:
- Policy configuration and rule review
- NAT concepts
- Troubleshooting traffic flows Coordinate Palo Alto firewall changes related to Azure connectivity and hybrid environments
- Automation Operations Automate network and firewall deployments using: ARM templates Bicep Terraform Use PowerShell and Azure CLI for configuration and troubleshooting Implement monitoring, alerting, and operational runbooks Participate in change management, upgrades, and capacity planning

Required Skills:

- Qualifications Solid hands-on experience with Azure Networking Solid experience managing Azure Firewall and NSGs Strong understanding of TCPIP, DNS, NAT, VPN, and routing concepts Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments Ability to troubleshoot complex network and security issues end-to-end Good documentation and communication skills

- Skills Cisco Routing Switching enterprise LANWAN Cisco Wireless technologies Palo Alto firewalls policy, NAT, traffic analysis Azure Firewall Premium features IDPS, TLS inspection Microsoft Sentinel and SIEM integration Infrastructure as Code Terraform preferred

Certifications :

- Preferred Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate AZ-700
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate AZ-500 Cisco CCNA
- CCNP Palo Alto PCNSA PCNSE

Soft Skills :

- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Ability to work across cloud, network, and security teams Ownership mindset and proactive approach Clear verbal and written communication
