Position Summary

- The Supply Chain Manager – India is responsible for end-to-end supply chain management across the Indian market, excluding customer service operations. This role ensures seamless demand and supply planning, inventory optimization, logistics efficiency, regulatory compliance and strong supplier and 3PL partnerships.
- As a key member of the India leadership team, the role drives alignment between supply chain strategy and business objectives, ensuring high service levels, cost efficiency and compliance with healthcare industry regulations (including import/export, customs and quality standards).
- The role also leads cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Finance and Operations while building a high-performing supply chain team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Demand & Supply Planning

- Lead end-to-end demand and supply planning cycles, including Demand Review, Supply Review and S&OP; processes for India.
- Prepare and present monthly S&OP; decks to India and APAC leadership.
- Monitor and improve key KPIs such as forecast accuracy, bias, inventory health (including SLOBs) and service levels.
- Identify supply risks and implement mitigation and contingency plans.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing on demand assumptions, product launches and allocation strategies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Establish structured governance with suppliers including MBRs (Monthly Business Reviews) and QBRs (Quarterly Business Reviews).

2. Logistics & Distribution

- Oversee all inbound and domestic logistics operations, including freight forwarding, transportation and distribution.
- Manage and optimize relationships with 3PL partners to ensure cost efficiency and service excellence.




- Ensure effective inter-state distribution planning in line with India’s regulatory and tax framework.
- Drive optimization of freight costs, port handling and transportation efficiency.

3. Inventory Management

- Own inventory strategy to balance service levels with working capital optimization.
- Drive initiatives such as VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory), lead time reduction and stock optimization.
- Monitor and manage excess, obsolete and short-dated inventory, ensuring timely liquidation.
- Partner with Finance for provisioning, inventory reporting and compliance.
- Ensure system accuracy for inventory classification (blocked, quarantined, saleable).

4. Customs & Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure compliance with Indian import/export regulations, customs laws and healthcare-specific regulatory requirements.
- Manage customs brokers and ensure correct tariff classification, duty structures and documentation.
- Drive utilization of applicable duty benefits and exemptions.

5. Warehousing & Operations

- Ensure adequate warehousing capacity and infrastructure to meet business requirements.
- Monitor warehouse operations for efficiency, compliance and cost optimization.
- Validate logistics and warehousing costs and approve expenditures as per governance norms.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial accruals related to supply chain operations.

6. People Leadership

- Lead, mentor and develop the supply chain team across planning,



procurement and logistics.
- Drive performance management, goal setting and career development initiatives.
- Build a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety and regulatory standards.

7. Systems & Process Excellence

- Drive continuous improvement in supply chain systems and processes.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy in ERP and planning systems (SAP, IBP, etc.).
- Lead digital transformation and automation initiatives within supply chain.
- Strengthen master data governance and process standardization.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree Operations, Engineering (Science / Pharmacy preferred)
- MBA in Supply Chain Management or Business Management (Preferred)

Experience:

- 10–15 years of experience in supply chain management within healthcare, pharma, or medical devices industry
- Strong expertise in demand planning, inventory management and logistics
- Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP and planning tools like IBP
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to work in a matrix and rapid-paced environment

Desirable

- Experience in regulated healthcare environments in India
- Knowledge of CDSCO, import regulations and quality compliance frameworks
- Exposure to digital supply chain tools and automation initiatives
