Job Description

n

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate librarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing excellent library services, fostering a love of reading and learning, and engaging with the community. Responsibilities

n

Assist patrons in locating library materials, both in print and electronic formats

n

Provide reference and research assistance to patrons, including helping with database searches and information inquiries

n

Develop and maintain library collections, including selecting materials for purchase and managing acquisitions

n

Plan and implement library programs and events for all ages, such as storytime sessions, book clubs, and workshops

n

Collaborate with community organizations and schools to promote literacy and library services

n

Assist with library technology, including troubleshooting issues with computers,



printers, and other equipment

n

Participate in library outreach efforts, including visiting schools, senior centers, and other community locations

n

Perform other duties as assigned by library management

n

Requirements

n

Qualifications

n

Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program

n

Strong customer service skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor

n

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

n

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

n

Familiarity with library cataloging systems and online databases

n

Knowledge of current trends in library services and information technology

n

Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment

n

Experience working with diverse populations preferred

n
