Job Description:

n

As part of the Public 5G Global Technology Center (GTC), the UDM and HSS Delivery Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end delivery and operation of HPE mobile core network solutions, including 5G network functions (AUSM, UDM, UDR, UDSF) and 4G I-HSS components.

n

The role ensures seamless integration of these solutions into customer core networks, covering design preparation, deployment, system optimization, production launch, and post-launch support. The engineer acts as a key technical interface between customers, partners, and internal HPE teams, driving delivery execution and resolving technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle.

What you will do :

n

Responsibilities:

n

- Deploy, test, and troubleshoot 5G network functions (AUSM, UDM, UDR, UDSF) and 4G I-HSS components (HLR,



EPS-HSS, IMS-HSS, EIR, MNP)n

- Deliver and operate mission-critical production systems in line with reliability, availability, and risk-management best practices

n

- Perform system and infrastructure tuning to meet performance, reliability, and security requirements

n

- Ensure security-driven delivery aligned with security best practices

n

- Monitor, assess, and remediate security vulnerabilities, including validation and rollout of security patches in production environments

n

- Plan and execute software upgrades and lifecycle activities for production systems

n

- Drive end-to-end solution delivery in coordination with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders

n

- Manage services during production launch and oversee deployed production solutions

n

- Monitor system health, performance, and capacity using monitoring and observability tools to proactively identify operational risks

n

- Investigate and resolve production incidents and drive root cause analysis

n

- Handle customer acceptance and internal testing, both remotely and on-site

n

- Ensure delivery quality through automated testing and regression validation

n

- Drive case management and prioritization in collaboration with product stakeholders to meet customer and project requirements

n





- Execute production changes following established change and risk-management processes

n

- Demonstrate robust ownership and autonomous delivery with minimal supervision

n

- Produce and maintain delivery and operational documentation to support system lifecycle and handover

n

- Deliver workshops for project handover and knowledge transfer

n

- Mentor junior team members

n

- Contribute to continuous improvement of delivery, operational, and observability practices

n

What you will bring ::

n

Education and Experience Required:

n

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalentn

- Minimum 8 years of experience in telecom

n

- Telecom and networking experience (4G/5G Mobile Core Networks, 3GPP standards)

n

- Cloud-native and virtualization experience

n

- Good written and spoken English

n

Knowledge and Skills:

n

- Experience working with mobile core network products, including HLR, HSS, and UDMn

- Experience in end-to-end HSS/UDM delivery

n

- Experience operating mission-critical production systems

n

- Strong knowledge of 3GPP standards and subscriber call flows for 3G/4G/5G core networks

n

- Cloud-native experience with platforms such as Red Hat OpenShift and Azure Operator Nexus

n

- Experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm)

n

- Experience with observability and monitoring tools (e.g. Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/Kibana, distributed tracing such as Jaeger)

n

- Virtualization experience with Red Hat KVM and VMware/vSphere

n

- Strong Linux system admini
