Founders Office - Finance Lead - About the Role

The Business Finance Associate works at the intersection of finance, accounts and business decision-making in a global e-commerce startup.

You will work closely with the founders and cross-functional teams to bring financial clarity, discipline, and forward planning into the business. This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role where finance directly influences growth, profitability, and strategy.

Cash Flow & Financial Discipline

- Monitor cash flow, burn rate, and runway
- Track receivables, payables, and working capital cycles
- Ensure timely vendor payments and reconciliation
- Identify cost inefficiencies and suggest optimisations
- Own financial operations end-to-end

Business Reporting & Insights

- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reports
- Highlight key trends, risks, and opportunities
- Build clean,



structured dashboards for founders

Compliance & Financial Operations

- Manage day-to-day accounting (invoicing, entries, reconciliations, GST, filings, and compliance)
- Track payables, receivables, and cash flow
- Maintain clean books and financial documentation
- Support audits and ensure statutory compliance

Financial Planning

- Support budgeting, annual and quarterly planning cycles
- Create scenario plans for growth, pricing, and new launches

E-commerce Revenue

- Track revenue streams across geographies (UK, USA, India)
- Analyse contribution margins, CAC and LTV
- Evaluate pricing, discounting, and campaign profitability

Tools & Software

You must be comfortable working independently across Excel / Google Sheets (financial modelling, analysis, dashboards) Accounting tools (Xero, Zoho), PowerPoint / Google Slides (explicit financial storytelling), Notion (documentation, trackers, dashboards), E-commerce analytics tools (Shopify, Klaviyo, or similar)

Who You Are

You have 3+ years of experience in finance and accounting in a startup with a strong understanding of business finance (not just accounting).

Familiarity with e-commerce or D2C business models is a strong plus.

Highly structured thinker with solid attention to detail.

Comfortable working in ambiguity and fast-paced environments. High ownership and accountability. Proactive and curious.
