We’re rooted in science, powered by community, and driven by the belief that revivals require ambitious people and audacious bets. Our mission is to remove 5 million metric tons of CO₂ by 2030. Role Overview:

We are looking for a Lab Operations Lead to run and scale the day-to-day functioning of our Darjeeling Climate Action Lab in Bagdogra, Darjeeling. This role requires:

● Strong scientific understanding (non-negotiable) ● Exceptional management and execution ability (core skill) You will own the lab end-to-end from sample inflow to final data output while building systems that can scale reliably.

Key Responsibilities: 1.

Lab Operations

n

Management ● Own complete sample lifecycle:

n

○ Receipt → Logging → Processing → Analysis → Storage

n

● Ensure high throughput with accuracy and discipline

n

● Enforce SOPs across all lab activities 2. Team & Execution Management (Core Focus)



● Manage and drive the performance of lab technicians

n

● Allocate work, track output, and ensure daily targets are met

n

● Build accountability and execution rigor on the ground 3.

n

Sample

n

Tracking & Data Integrity ● Implement and manage barcode-based tracking systems ● Ensure full traceability across sub-samples and lab workflows

n

● Maintain clean, error-free data pipelines 4. Instrument & Lab Coordination ● Oversee operation and uptime of instruments (e.g., OES, MS, XRD, etc.)

n

● Coordinate with vendors for installation, service, and troubleshooting

n

● Ensure optimal utilization of lab infrastructure 5. Throughput & Process Optimization ● Plan batch runs and daily/weekly targets

n

● Identify bottlenecks and resolve them quickly

n

● Continuously improve speed, cost, and accuracy 6. Lab Management and zero downtime ● Manage timelines, quality, and communication

n

● Ensure protocol adherence

n

● Manage chemicals, consumables, and supplies

n

● Maintain logs, SOPs, and reporting systems

n

● Support future accreditation (e.g., NABL readiness) Skills & Requirements: Must-Have-

● Strong scientific foundation (chemistry / environmental science / related fields)

● Understanding of lab workflows and sample processing ● Excellent management skills — ability to run teams and drive output
