Job Title: Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)
Location: Bhopal & Indore
Role Overview
The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is responsible for overseeing the overall administrative operations of the organization/university, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and alignment with strategic goals. The CAO acts as a key link between leadership, departments, and operational teams.
Operations Management
Oversee day-to-day administrative functions across departments
Ensure smooth functioning of campus operations (facilities, transport, security, housekeeping, etc.)
Monitor operational efficiency and service quality
Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Financial & Resource Management
Assist in budgeting and cost control for administrative functions
Monitor administrative expenses and optimize resource utilization
Approve procurement related to administrative requirements
Infrastructure & Facility Management
Oversee maintenance of buildings, classrooms, labs, and campus facilities
Ensure safety standards, cleanliness, and infrastructure development
Manage vendors, contracts, and service providers
Coordination & Communication
Act as a bridge between management, academic leadership, and administrative teams
Coordinate meetings, reviews, and reporting systems
Ensure effective internal communication across departments
Risk Management & Crisis Handling
Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies
Handle emergency situations, crisis management, and contingency planning
Police & Government Liaisoning
Act as the primary point of contact with local police authorities, district administration, and government departments
Ensure timely coordination for law & order, security permissions, and emergency situations
Liaise with departments such as Labor Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Fire Department, education authorities, and regulatory bodies
Facilitate licenses, approvals, NOCs, and statutory clearances required for institutional operations
Coordinate during VIP visits, public events, inspections, and official visits
Ensure compliance with local laws related to safety, security, and public administration
Maintain solid relationships with government officials to support institutional interests
Handle legal notices, official communications, and documentation with authorities
Support crisis management by coordinating with police and administration during incidents
Qualifications & Experience
Master’s degree in Management / Administration / relevant field
10–15+ years of experience in administration or operations
Experience in education sector (preferred for universities)
Proven leadership in managing large teams and complex operations
Additional Eligibility (Preferred)
Ex-Servicemen candidates with the rank of Major or above (Army) or equivalent rank in Navy/Air Force are highly preferred
Strong background in discipline, security management, crisis handling, and government coordination will be an added advantage
Salary
1.25 Lakh P.M. to 1.60 Lakh P.M.
