The primary purposes of this role are to:

- Support the Current Product Development (NPD) team in the design, analysis, prototyping, and validation of Transmission & Distribution (T&D;) accessories across all product lines.
- Assist senior engineers in executing engineering calculations, 3D CAD modelling, and simulation activities related to new product programs.
- Participate in design verification and testing activities to ensure new products meet applicable IEC, IEEE, and other international standards.
- Contribute to the development of Bills of Materials (BOM), technical documentation, and vendor coordination for prototype builds and material sourcing.

Authority

- Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of own engineering deliverables, including drawings, calculations, and test reports.
- Authority to raise engineering queries and design concerns to the Engineering Manager or Senior Engineer.
- Supports and contributes to technical decisions
- Authorised to coordinate directly with approved vendors for sample procurement and prototype support under the guidance of the senior engineer.

Key tasks

- Develop and maintain 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using Creo under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Assist in structural, thermal, and mechanical analysis using ANSYS Mechanical/ basic electromagnetic,



and dielectric simulations using ANSYS Maxwell will add an advantage
- Support the preparation and execution of design verification and validation test plans in accordance with applicable standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI, IS).
- Support hands-on prototype assembly, inspection, and pre-test setup in the engineering lab
- Create, update, and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) for new product programs in the PLM/PDM system.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documents, including product specifications, calculation sheets, test procedures, and design change records.

Job Specification

The Associate Engineer - NPD shall have the following qualifications, experience, and competencies:

- Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- 2 to 3 years of engineering experience in product design, development, or testing, preferably in the electrical or industrial manufacturing sector.

Technical Skills

- Basic to working knowledge of Creo (PTC) or equivalent 3D CAD software for part modelling and drawing creation.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical basic definitions, and technical standards
- Knowledge of IEC and/or IEEE standards.
- Familiarity with PLM/PDM tools for BOM and document management will add an advantage
