This is not solely a hands-on engineering role — it is a position of strategic technical influence, requiring the ability to operate at both the architectural level and the organizational level to effect lasting, meaningful change across our engineering teams. In an e-commerce and retail context, the stakes of infrastructure architecture decisions are exceptionally high.



Platform availability, page load performance, checkout reliability, and the ability to scale through peak trading periods all flow directly from the quality of our cloud architecture. The Lead DevOps Architect - Cloud will own the technical strategy that underpins these capabilities, ensuring our AWS platform is resilient, secure, cost-effective, and positioned to support the company's growth objectives This works in close partnership with the CISO, Director of Global Infrastructure, Head of Platform Engineering, and senior engineering leadership across the organization. It carries significant visibility and influence at the executive level and is expected to serve as the definitive internal authority on cloud and DevOps architecture.YOUR IMPACT (Job Responsibilities):Define and own the architectural vision for our AWS cloud platform, DevOps toolchain, and engineering delivery practices across the organizationLead the design of scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems that meet the demands of a high-volume retail and e-commerce environmentEstablish and enforce infrastructure-as-code standards, CI/CD pipeline patterns, and platform engineering best practices across all engineering teamsEvaluate and introduce new technologies, architectural patterns, and tooling to continuously advance the capability and maturity of our platformPartner with engineering leadership, security, finance, and product teams to align infrastructure strategy with organizational and commercial objectivesProvide technical mentorship, architectural guidance, and career development support to DevOps and platform engineers across the organizationLead cloud migration, modernization, and re-architecture initiatives, including the transition of legacy retail systems to cloud-native architecturesDefine and drive SLOs, SLAs, and error budget policies, embedding a culture of reliability and measurable service quality across engineeringOwn disaster recovery, business continuity, and multi-region resilience strategies, with particular focus on protecting revenue during peak retail eventsConduct architecture reviews, threat modeling sessions, and cloud cost optimization analyses, and present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholdersRepresent the engineering organization in vendor relationships with AWS, HashiCorp, and other strategic platform partnersQUALIFICATIONS:8+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering,
