• Bloom — a 2,500 sq ft rooftop garden event space built for celebrations, experiences, and gatherings of every kind.
We are in an active growth phase — expanding the team, strengthening our people systems, and setting up the infrastructure for the next chapter. The HR Executive joins at an exciting time and will be central to making this happen.
The Role
The HR Executive will be the operational engine of the HR function — running the day-to-day across recruitment, payroll, onboarding, compliance, and employee engagement across all three SARC brands and a team of 60 people.
You will work closely with the HR Manager and directly with department heads and the founders where required. In the absence of the HR Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for all HR matters and will be expected to manage independently with good judgment.
This role suits someone who is execution-driven, people-oriented, and comfortable toggling between a payroll sheet and a difficult conversation — often on the same day.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition — Priority
• Execute end-to-end hiring: write job posts, screen applications, schedule and coordinate interviews, conduct reference checks, and manage offer rollouts.
• Maintain an active, pre-qualified talent pipeline for high-turnover roles — particularly in housekeeping, F&B;, and front office.
• Liaise with department heads to understand staffing timelines and ensure vacancies are filled without operational disruption.
• Shortlist candidates who are value-aligned, not just technically qualified — culture fit matters at SARC.
• Support employer branding efforts on job portals and social platforms to position SARC as a destination employer in Pune hospitality.
• Coordinate with hospitality institutes and placement cells for a steady pipeline of entry-level and trained talent.
2. Payroll & Attendance — Priority
• Process monthly payroll accurately and on time for all employees across Centro, Chirp, and Bloom using HRMS and Excel.
• Maintain daily attendance records, track leave balances, overtime, and any anomalies across all outlets.
• Update payroll inputs for new joiners, exits, promotions, and increments on a rolling basis.
• Coordinate with Finance to resolve discrepancies and ensure salary disbursements are compliant and on schedule.
• Manage statutory deductions — PF, ESIC, Professional Tax — and ensure timely remittance and filing.
• Generate monthly payroll summaries and attendance reports for the HR Manager and founders.
3. Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle
• Coordinate the full onboarding process for every new hire: documentation collection, system setup, orientation scheduling, and role introduction.
• Conduct brand-oriented induction sessions that give new employees a clear sense of who SARC is, what we stand for, and how each brand connects.
• Maintain complete and accurate employee files from day one through exit.
• Manage exit formalities with care: resignation processing, handover coordination, F&F; settlement support, and exit interviews.
• Track patterns in exit feedback and share summarised insights with the HR Manager quarterly.
4. Training & Development
• Assist the HR Manager in planning and scheduling internal training — both operational (SOPs, service standards) and soft skills (communication, guest handling, team conduct).
• Maintain a training calendar and track completion across departments.
• Coordinate with department heads to identify gaps and prioritise training needs.
• Maintain training records and post-training feedback, and flag where programmes need revision.
5. Employee Engagement & Welfare
• Be accessible and approachable — the first port of call for employees with questions, concerns, or grievances.
• Handle employee concerns with empathy and discretion; escalate appropriately when issues require HR Manager or founder involvement.
• Coordinate engagement initiatives: birthday and work anniversary acknowledgements, team events, recognition moments, and internal surveys.
• Support the HR Manager in designing and running larger engagement programmes that reinforce SARC's culture.
• Uphold a respectful, inclusive, and psychologically safe workplace across all brands and teams.
6. Compliance & Record Management
• Maintain updated, complete, and confidential employee records — contracts, ID verification, offer letters, appraisal documents, and statutory forms.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable labour laws: Shops & Establishments Act, PF & ESIC regulations, Minimum Wages Act, Gratuity Act, and POSH.
• Assist in preparing HR reports and documentation for compliance audits.
• Support the HR Manager in maintaining and updating HR SOPs, policy documents, and the employee handbook.
• Coordinate POSH-related awareness sessions and ensure committee requirements are met.
What We're Looking For
Must-Have
• 2–4 years of HR experience, with at least 1 year in a hospitality or service-sector workplace.
• Proven, hands-on experience in end-to-end recruitment — not just coordination, but actual sourcing and screening ownership.
• Working knowledge of payroll processing and statutory compliance (PF, ESIC, PT, TDS).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (attendance tracking, payroll sheets, basic formulas) and at least one HRMS/payroll tool — Zoho People, GreytHR, or similar.
• Strong working knowledge of applicable Indian labour laws.
• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or equivalent.
• Based in Pune and available for in-person work from Day 1.
Strong Advantage
• Experience in a multi-outlet or multi-brand hospitality setup.
• Familiarity with employer branding and job portal management (Naukri, LinkedIn, Indeed).
• Exposure to onboarding design, training coordination, or engagement programme execution.
• PGDM or MBA in HRM.
