ABOUT THE ROLE

TellySynco (by FamSync) is a family coordination dashboard that runs on Apple TV — a shared command centre for busy households. We're building a tvOS-first product with an iOS companion app, targeting the 35M+ US households that already own Apple TV.

We need a Backend Engineer to own the entire server-side infrastructure: REST APIs, real-time sync, calendar integrations, and background workers. You'll work directly with the founder and have full ownership of backend architecture from day one.

WHAT YOU'LL BUILD

n

REST API

n

Auth, household management, tasks, calendars, meals, shopping, and photos — clean, well-

n

documented endpoints consumed by tvOS and iOS clients.

n

Real-Time Sync

n

WebSocket server with Redis pub/sub. Target: sub-3-second sync latency across all family devices so the TV always reflects live household state.

n

Calendar Integrations

n

Direct OAuth 2.0 integrations with Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, and iCloud CalDAV.

n

Webhook handling, token refresh, and event normalisation to a unified internal schema.

n

Background Workers

n

Calendar polling and sync jobs, push notification dispatch via APNs, RevenueCat subscription webhook processing, and scheduled reminders.

TECH STACK

Runtime - Node.js 20+, TypeScript

Framework - Fastify (preferred) or Express

Database - PostgreSQL 15+ with Prisma ORM

Cache / Queue - Redis 7+, Bull for job queues

Storage - AWS S3 or Cloudflare R2

n

Push - Apple Push Notification Service (APNs)

Subscriptions - RevenueCat webhooks

Deployment - Railway (primary) or AWS

Observability - Sentry

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

n

Must Have

n

- 3–5 years of backend development experience
- Strong Node.js and TypeScript proficiency
- PostgreSQL — schema design, indexing, query optimisation
- REST API development with Express or Fastify
- OAuth 2.0 implementation experience (any major provider)
- WebSocket or real-time communication systems
- Redis — caching and pub/sub patterns

Nice to Have

n

- Google Calendar API or Microsoft Graph API experience
- Apple Push Notification Service (APNs)
- Deployment on Railway, AWS, or GCP
- Prisma ORM
- LLM API integration (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar)

CTC : INR 8-12 lpa (based on experience)
