Sioux India, based in Pune, is a growing engineering centre working embedded within international project teams, collaborating daily with engineers in the Netherlands, Singapore, and Vietnam across the full product lifecycle. At Sioux India, you are a core part of the engineering team with real ownership of your domain and a genuine path to grow into senior and lead roles across our global network. The machines our Pune team contributes to end up inside some of the world's most advanced semiconductor fabs, analytical laboratories, and medical facilities.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer with deep EPLAN expertise and a proven track record in semiconductor or high-precision capital equipment to take end-to-end ownership of electrical design and configuration management across multiple complex machine builds. This is a senior engineering position: you will define standards, govern the EPLAN environment, mentor junior engineers, and act as the primary electrical authority on your projects.
You will drive the translation of system-level requirements into fully controlled, release-ready electrical documentation, own the Engineering Change Management process end-to-end, and engage directly with international engineering teams and customers. You will be expected to bring domain expertise from semiconductor capital equipment and to apply that knowledge to raise the engineering standard of the team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the definition and governance of the EPLAN project environment across all machine platforms: establish and enforce standards, naming conventions, symbol libraries, parts databases, macro libraries, and revision workflows.
- Develop and maintain EPLAN Electric P8 schematics, single-line diagrams, cabinet layouts (EPLAN Pro Panel), wiring lists, BOMs, and cable calculations for new and existing machine builds.
- Own the EPLAN configuration management cycle: define, version, and maintain distinct build configurations (project templates, parts databases, macro libraries, form sets) for each machine platform.
- Govern EPLAN project standards: naming conventions, symbol libraries, plot frames, and revision control workflows, ensuring consistency across the engineering team.
- Manage multi-variant machine configurations, maintaining clear separation of documentation sets across product families, machine generations, and customer-specific variants.
- Develop Functional Requirement Specifications for electrical and electro-mechanical systems, selecting components for power distribution, I/O controllers, sensors, cables, and PCBs in alignment with system-level requirements.
- Design AC power and control panels to UL 508A and IEC standards, including switchgear and protection circuit selection, applying international electrical safety standards (NEC, IEC, UL, SEMI) throughout.
- Create and release system-level electrical engineering drawings and bill of materials through an Engineering Change Management (ECM) process, maintaining traceability across all design revisions.
- Configure and audit legacy EPLAN drawings, identify quality issues, and bring older projects into current standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in electronics, mechanics, software, and physics to ensure designs are buildable, testable, and compliant with design-for-manufacturability and design-for-serviceability principles.
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level electrical engineers, reviewing their EPLAN outputs and supporting their growth in configuration management discipline.
- Engage directly with international project teams and customers to capture electrical requirements, validate design decisions, and present solutions with confidence.
- Drive continuous improvement in EPLAN tooling, macro libraries, scripting automation, and integration with PLM/ERP systems to increase team efficiency and documentation quality.
REQUIREMENTS
Must-have
- B.E / B.Tech / M.Tech in Electrical or Electronics Engineering; M.Tech or equivalent advanced qualification preferred
- 7+ years of electrical design experience in semiconductor capital equipment, analytical instrumentation, or high-precision industrial machinery
- Expert-level EPLAN Electric P8: full project lifecycle ownership, standards governance, parts database management, macros, and multi-build configuration management
- Demonstrated experience owning EPLAN project structures across multiple machine builds and product variants
- AC power and control panel design to UL 508A and IEC standards, including switchgear, protection circuit selection, and compliance sign-off
- End-to-end Engineering Change Management (ECM) and BOM release ownership for complex electrical systems
- Deep knowledge of IEC 60204-1 and international electrical safety standards (NEC, UL, SEMI, CE, CSA)
- Experience developing Functional Requirement Specifications and translating system-level requirements into electrical design solutions
- Proven ability to lead technical reviews, mentor engineers, and act as design authority
WHAT WE OFFER
