Job Summary:

- We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Resident Engineer to serve as the primary technical resource embedded with a strategic enterprise client. In this role you will own the end-to-end delivery of Cohesity-based data protection initiatives, act as the client's trusted advisor on storage and infrastructure architecture and bridge the gap between the customer environment and Cohesity's Engineering, Product, and QA teams. You will be accountable for project outcomes, executive-level stakeholder communication, and the quality of technical documentation handed off to Operations teams on both sides.

Responsibilities:

Core Technical Requirements

- S3-Compatible Object Storage — Expert Level (L3+)
- Deep hands-on experience designing, configuring, and troubleshooting S3-compatible storage environments
- Proficient use of the S3 API (s3api) for bucket management, lifecycle policies, ACLs, multipart uploads, and performance tuning
- Familiarity with S3-compatible platforms (e.g., Cohesity Smartfiles, MinIO, Ceph) in enterprise contexts

Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) — Expert Level (L3+)

- Advanced OS administration including kernel tuning, storage subsystem configuration, and performance diagnostics
- Experience managing RHEL in large-scale, multi-node environments; SELinux, firewalld, and system proficiency expected

API Architecture & Integration — Proficient Level (L2+)

- Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles, authentication patterns (OAuth, API keys, JWT), and integration patterns
- Ability to build and troubleshoot API-driven workflows relevant to data protection and storage orchestration

Software-Defined Networking (SDN) — Foundational Level (L1)

- Working knowledge of SDN concepts (overlays, VLANs, micro-segmentation) as they relate to storage and backup network architecture





Node Hardware Architecture

- Familiarity with AMD EPYC/Ryzen server architecture, NVMe configurations, and hardware-level performance considerations in Cohesity appliance and cloud-native deployments

Cohesity Data Protection Expertise

SAP HANA Data Protection via Backint Integration — Proficient Level (L2+)

- Hands-on experience configuring and validating Cohesity Backint for SAP HANA backups, restores, and log-based recovery
- Understanding of HANA-specific RPO/RTO requirements and how to align backup policies accordingly

Oracle SBT (System Backup to Tape) — Proficient Level (L2+)

- Experience configuring Oracle RMAN with the SBT channel to Cohesity for full, incremental, and archive log backups
- Comfortable performing end-to-end restore and recovery validation in Oracle environments

Additional Data Protection Platforms (Preferred — Future POC Readiness)

- NetApp: ONTAP-integrated protection, SnapVault/SnapMirror interoperability with Cohesity
- Pure Storage: FlashArray/FlashBlade protection workflows via Cohesity
- NoSQL / Up-to-date Databases: MongoDB (Ops Manager integration), CockroachDB (S3-based backup), and other distributed databases

Experience:

- 8+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, storage engineering, or data protection roles
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Cohesity DataProtect or comparable enterprise backup/recovery platforms
- Demonstrated success in a client-facing or resident engineer capacity, comfortable presenting to both technical teams and executive leadership
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a track record of producing high-quality technical documentation
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and drive projects to closure in a fast-paced enterprise environment
- Cohesity certifications or equivalent vendor credentials are a plus
