About the opportunity Department Description
The data value team within the central data function is facilitating the adoption of a data led culture at FIL. Senior business leaders struggle to get access to the right data, MI/insights and analytics for key functional problems. The data value team is a central team made up of different data capabilities such as analytics, MI, data engineering and business analysis and helps different departments define the right MI and Analytics. The Central data function provides significant data and reporting services to different consumers and departments across Fidelity. These services include establishing data governance processes, meta data and data quality management,
data architecture, data lake (Snowflake) and APIs adoption along with development of new reporting and analytical applications.
Purpose of your role
This is an exciting opportunity for professionals who can understand the senior stakeholder requirements for MI and Analytics, curate use cases and work with the team to translate them into outcomes. It includes building a good understanding of FILs business, gain deep understanding of FIL strategy & vision, ability to understand and articulate the implication of the solution and ensure alignment with business context. The candidate will be expected to interact with all levels of the business and technical community and work in complete coherence
This role will face off to senior stakeholders in the organisation so the successful candidate will therefore be personable, articulate and have strong networking and communication skills to help take initiatives forward.
Understand FILs business / client landscape and identify opportunities in collaboration with the business representatives based on business knowledge that aims to improve the overall customer experience.
Propose solutions to solve strategic, tactical, structured, and unstructured business problems, e.g. optimizing marketing-mix, marketing ROI, enhancing sales and profitability, amongst the others
Works independently on business cases and statistical analysis with the business to manage the full lifecycle of creating value (Value through simplification and Insights)
Works with Tech teams to identify and resolve any data, environment, or implementation issues and create strategic linkages with the various systems.
Lead the overall development of the MI/Analytics solution working with immediate team members and the extended engagements within the cross functional team
Provides mentoring, coaching, and consulting advice and guidance to staff
Organize periodic sessions with senior stakeholders to drive value creation culture, explore collaboration opportunities, generate requirements and provide updates on the progress
Adopt project management approach in assisting the business in the development of the proposition, making recommendations on approach whilst identifying potential issues and risks in the process.
Create scorecards to detail the business benefits and ensure these are tracked and realised by the business
Facilitate roadshows, create effective comms etc for stakeholders and users at all levels to demonstrate progress / achievements of the team.
Lead the overall development of the MI / Analytics solution working with immediate team members and the extended engagements within the cross functional team
Working with the business unit or domain architect, analyse the technology industry, competitors and market trends, and determine their potential impact on the enterprise.
Stay abreast of key emerging products / industry standards to bring in the external / market / competitor view to the opportunities
Experience and Qualifications
At least 8-10 years overall experience preferably in Financial Services industry
CA/MBA/MCA/Any other bachelors degree
Essential Skills / Personal Characteristics
Exposure and good understanding of financial services domain
Experience of working with multi-cultural teams in a geographically diverse environment
Ability to learn and quickly get familiar with a complex business and systems environment
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think laterally to arrive at a solution
Must have an eye for detail and analyse/relate to the business problem in hand
Ability to develop & maintain good relationships with all business and systems stakeholders
Self-motivation is essential, should demonstrate commitment to high quality solution
Ability to discuss both business and related technology/system at various levels
Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills and proven working experience in project management
Outstanding analytical skills including analysing data, workflow, user or stakeholder inputs and ability to convert it into business outcomes
Good knowledge of reporting tools such as OBIEE, Tableau with understanding of different types of reporting, storytelling using visualization, etc
