Job Description

As an ADC Product Manager, you are a key member of the product management group and will represent the voice of the customer and organizations leadership team to execute product vision!

The PM acts as both Product Manager and Product Owner and works closely with agile teams, management leads, engineering managers and architects to create, define, prioritize the features, and takes care of the execution of these features.

We rely on PM for organization and engineering teams success

Primary Responsibilities

Define Strategies and roadmap of the Product

Collaborate with other product management group members, Business Owners and POs (Product owners)

to create roadmaps and prioritize features of the product

Interact with customers for requirements gathering

Create and prioritize the product backlog (Features / Enhancements)

Act as the voice of the customer to the agile teams and articulate product expectations

Own, maintain, and prioritize the agile product backlog

Create and prioritize the backlog of High Impact bugs

Prioritize Customer Hotfix requests (EHFs)

Work on Customer Special Requests (CSRs) with POs, PM Group & Business Owners and add those to the Product Roadmap.

Collaborate with Engineering managers to resolve Service Requests coming from customers.

Engage with customers on need basis to discuss the product roadmap with them.

Communicate trade-offs between customer expectations and engineering realities to product management partners and align on prioritization

Engage and participate in agile ceremonies.

Articulate and refine requirements / stories and define acceptance criteria in a manner. understandable to the engineering teams (e.g., INVEST) Define sprints and program increments goals and objectives with the team

Demonstrate products to internal F5 audiences and decision makers

Identify and manage dependencies across teams within the product / solution

Define business goals and customer expectations for program Increments

Partner with product development and other partner teams to prepare for PI (Program Increment) planning and Big-Room Planning

Convene and lead technical discussions with engineering as part of articulating and refining requirements and understanding and balancing engineering realities

Follow-up on security domain topics as defined by project requirements, including the competitive landscape and modern technologies

Stay up to date on relevant security industry trends and standard methodologies and constantly exchange ideas

Collaborate with other teams such as OEM team (for 3rd party packages) and Documentation team (for KB articles)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrates effective team dynamics, conflict resolution, mentoring, and servant leadership skills.

Demonstrated working experience within Agile methodologies and utilizing agile practices.

Strong facilitation skills within teams and passion to lead cross-functional teams

Positive teammate.

Strong oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills with the ability to influence others internally and externally.

Experience resolving issues with higher levels of management.

Balance of technical and business sense; able to communicate what is possible and what will have the biggest impact on business.

Solid understanding of network and security technologies including TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, HTTP, HTTP/2, UDP and DNS.

Strong understanding of Linux Environment and Open-source software

Strong understanding of Firewalls

Be familiar with modern software CI/CD practices including test driven development and usage of GitHub.

Exposure to VMware, OpenStack, Docker and Kubernetes or similar a plus.

Exposure to Bugzilla, JIRA, JIRA Align, Salesforce/CRM and other tracking tools

Good to have experience in Project management.


7 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree in software engineering, business management or related fields; or equivalent experience.

3 years of experience analyzing and documenting business requirements and communicating them to technical teams in the role of product owner, product manager, or program manager.

Experience in writing user stories and requirements.

Training and certification as a professional product owner (SAFe) or other certified product owner.

Experience in network and application infrastructure technologies.
