As a Support Engineer (Network Operations Center Engineer), you seek resolution to Networking problems and mitigate risk, always ensuring a Customer Obsessed experience has occurred. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or related disciplines
3 years overall network infrastructure / NOC support experience
Debugging and troubleshooting skills with an enthusiastic attitude to support and resolve customer problems
Experience in one of the scripting languages such as bash, Perl, or Python
Knowledge of the UNIX/Linux operating system
Experience running and maintaining a 24x7 production environment
Strong as an individual contributor creating and managing standard operating procedures and internal processes
Exceptional communication, documentation and presentation skills for technical and business audiences.
Strong understanding of networking concepts such as BGP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, HTTP, SSL, OSI Model and TCP/IP protocols and applications
Strong understanding of network troubleshooting concepts in LAN / WAN environment
Willingness to work in flexible shifts and scheduling including weekends and holidays
Experience working with an enterprise ticketing system
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with internet routing protocols and concepts: TCP/IP, BGP and OSPF
Experience with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS and JUNOS.
Experience with Linux based network operating systems
Experience working with large telecom / internet service providers (ISPs)
Experience with multi-tier distributed systems involving load balancers
Strong metrics and operational excellence focus
Strong understanding of Routers, Switches, Firewalls and servers
Knowledge of Programming languages is a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
