Job Description

A person in this role will be responsible for product lifecycle management, tech platform implementation and launch strategic partnerships for PSL assets. The position ensures on-boarding & managing the relationship with partners to provide lending solutions through co-lending / business correspondent route in the area of priority sector.

Key Accountabilities

Fulfil all responsibilities in relation to Product Lifecycle Management (Co-lending, Business Correspondent, Loan Participation and Direct Assignment)

Achieving system readiness and designing appropriate processes & controls in a timely manner to ensure smooth launch

Identify opportunities with potential NBFCs / MFIs / Fintechs and co-develop a value proposition to go to market for originating priority sector loans,

Agree a business plan with the partners and make them commit for delivery towards achievement of PSL targets in the area of Small & Marginal Farmers, Other Agri and Micro Enterprises

Work internally with Stakeholders (Ops, Product, IT, Legal, RMG, Finance Compliance, Marketing) to ensure that the proposition is launched on schedule and delivers the necessary

Be result oriented and be able to exert influence within and outside the organization.

Manage key accounts to deliver the numbers committed as per the business plan and manage relationships with all the stakeholders in the Partner organization

Job Duties & responsibilities

Product Lifecycle Management (Co-lending, Business Correspondent, Loan Participation and Direct Assignment)

Launch new products / variants (end to end management)

Maintain and update existing products / variants

Lay out policies and processes

Compliance with all regulatory and bank guidelines including Outsourcing, KYC

Portfolio management and control (Product, Asset class, Industry, counterparty level)

Presentation on products / portfolio performance in various forums

Low-cost funding / Risk participation:

Scope out PSL centric multilateral / development / impact institutions to partner

Approach the institutions and meet at appropriate level to initiate the partnership discussion and generate their interest

Do initial due diligence to evaluate the appropriateness for the bank

Prepare a business case and present to management committee for approval

Launch partnership with multilateral / development agencies for low-cost funding / risk participation structures

System Platform


Driving DBS IT teams and the vendor teams towards the most efficient and cost-effective implementation of the platform

Ensuring timely release of a comprehensive BRD for various modules of the platform including reporting requirements, end-to-end testing, post go-live monitoring

Work with multiple tech teams to bring system solution together

Build a credible project plan and monitor performance to ensure timely delivery

Identify and drive necessary changes in systems for activities peculiar to a partnership and direct assignment

Monitor technology performance (bank and vendor systems) from governance & service delivery standpoint to ensure agreed service levels are always met

Closely work with technology team for improvement of delivery channels and quick resolutions.

Vendor management

Commercial and contractual negotiation closure with defined SLAs

Preparation of MIS and perform analysis on partners performance for management oversight.

Launch of Strategic Alliances - execution & project management

Work with identified partners to launch co-lending / business correspondent artnerships

Present business case for management approval

Defining and running cross functional working groups with required representation from suitable teams, having clearly defined roles & responsibilities

Conduct detailed assessment of the partner including business, management, financial, portfolio performance, processes, policies for obtaining partner approval

Map partners KYC, credit underwriting, collection, operational, servicing processes and compare with bank standards

Jointly with partner formulate acceptable processes including TAT for partnership

Commercial and contractual negotiation closure and defining roles and responsibilities of both parties

Seek internal approvals for launch of partnership including outsourcing, risk, compliance, operations, legal

Evaluate volumes under partnership and take buy-in from stakeholders for processing

Stakeholder management for smooth execution

Providing periodic and need-based updates to forums on progress.

Required Experience

MBA/CA with 7-12 years of work experience in banks managing partnerships role (MFI / Business Correspondent / NBFC / FinTechs). Good communication skills, analytical skills and positive attitude. Track record of having developed and executed partnerships.

Education / Preferred Qualifications

MBA / CA / Post-Graduate in the relevant field
