Container Kubernetes Services CKS Are you interested in building large-scale distributed infrastructure for the cloud Do you have a passion for solving complex design problems and operational issues Does changechallenge you Does helping people succeed motivate you Oracle s Cloud Infrastructure team is building new Infrastructure-as-a-Service technologies that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment Our customers run their businesses on our cloud and our mission is to provide them with best in class compute storage networking database security and an ever expanding set of foundational cloud-based services The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure OCI team can provide you the opportunity to build and operate a suite of massive scale integrated cloud services in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment CKS team aims to provide a rich set of services and tools to enable building and deploying of Cloud Services as containerized workloads and manage the entire development and deployment lifecycle Oracle s Container Engine for Kubernetes and Serverless is one of the foundational offerings of this organization We offer unique opportunities for smart hands-on engineering professionals with the expertise and passion to solve difficult problems in distributed highly available services and virtualized infrastructure At every level our technical leaders have a significant technical and business impact designing and building creative current systems to power our customer s business critical applications We re looking for hands on Engineering Managers with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in distributed systems cloud native technologies and highly available services If this is you at OCI you can design and build innovative new systems from the ground up These are exciting times in our space - we are growing fast still at an early stage and working on ambitious new initiatives You work on a team that owns the design development and operations for major components of Oracle s Cloud Infrastructure in the Cloud Native space In the CKS team you shall be working on the Managed Kubernetes offering projects as well around the Kubernetes ecosystem You should be a distributed systems generalist able to understand broad systems interactions while being very hands-on able to dive deep into any part of the stack and lower-level system interactions You should value simplicity and scale work comfortably in a cooperative agile environment and be excited to learn Minimum Qualifications Experience of managing delivering and operating large scale highly available distributed systems Good knowledge of Go or Java and experience with scripting languages such as Python A strong understanding of the architecture of the commonly available IaaS solutions and how they fit together The candidate should have actively contributed in past for the design changes and architectural enhancements Exposure to deployment on Azure AWS and GCP is a big plus A good understanding of the container technology like Docker and container orchestration technology like Kubernetes Familiarity with managed Kubernetes service like Google Kubernetes Engine Amazon Kubernetes Service will be an added advantage 10 years of experience in Software Development Excellent analytical skills coupled with an bias for action Demonstrated skills or willingness to work on Operational Efficiency of services would be a plus Desired Bachelors or Master s degree in Engineering or Computer Science Prior experience with operating and building services would be a big plus The candidate should have DevOps exposure and is expected to be on call escalation matrix Should have a bias for action and should be willing to take ownership of a problem and solve it to completion Willingness to deal with ambiguity and see beyond the curve
