Mylos Foundation (Mylos Rescue) is a public charitable trust based in Bengaluru, running a fully operational animal shelter, ABC (Animal Birth Control) programme, and vet hospital at Mylasandra Gate, Begur Road. We operate on a 5R model — Reduce, Respond, Rescue, Rehabilitate, and Robust Regulations — and conduct sterilisation surgeries and critical rescues across the city.
n
We are now seeking recognition from the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) and FCRA certification to expand our impact and access international funding. These two approvals will be the single most transformative compliance milestones for our organisation in 2025.
n
What you'll work on
nTrack 1 — AWBI Recognitionn
End-to-end preparation of the AWBI application, supporting documents, shelter compliance documentation, and liaison support.
n
Track 2 — FCRA Certification
n
Preparation of the FCRA registration application, financial documentation, trustee declarations, activity reports, and MHA portal submission.
n
Key responsibilities
n
n
- Research and map out all documentation requirements for AWBI recognition and FCRA registration, and create a master checklist.
n
- Liaise with the Trustees to collect, organise, and format all required documents (trust deed, financial statements, annual reports, activity proof, etc.).
n
- Draft supporting documents such as organisational profiles, project summaries, compliance declarations, and cover letters.
n
- Prepare presentations or reports as required by regulatory bodies or for internal review by the Trustees.
n
- Track submission timelines, follow up on pending approvals, and manage correspondence with AWBI and MHA.
n
- Flag gaps in compliance readiness and suggest corrective steps in coordination with the management.
n
- Maintain a structured documentation repository for all regulatory submissions.
n
nWho we're looking fornn
- Background in law, public policy, NGO management, social work, or a related field — students and recent graduates are welcome.
n
- Prior experience with NGO/trust compliance, FCRA, or AWBI processes is a strong plus (but not mandatory — we'll guide you).
n
- Solid written English for drafting formal documents, letters, and reports.
n
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing paperwork-heavy projects.
n
- Proactive, self-driven, and able to work independently with periodic check-ins with the Trustees.
n
- Genuine passion for animal welfare is a plus — you'll be working directly with the founders of a hands-on rescue organisation.
n
nWhat we offer n
- A certificate of appreciation and a detailed recommendation letter from the Trustees upon successful completion.
n
- Direct mentorship from the founders of an operational animal welfare NGO.
n
- Real ownership of a high-stakes compliance project — not a shadow role.
n
- Opportunity to visit and experience the Mylos shelter and ABC operations firsthand.
n
- A meaningful addition to your portfolio if you're building a career in the development sector, law, or public policy.
n
nEngagement detailsnn
- Duration: 3 months (with possibility of extension if both parties agree)
n
- Commitment: Approx. 10–15 hours per week
n
- Mode: Primarily remote; in-person visits to the shelter in Bengaluru as needed
n
- Stipend: Unpaid (this is a volunteer role)
n
- Start date: Immediate / As per mutual convenience
