Job Title: Deputy Manager / Manager – Packaging Development

Location: Vadodara, Gujarat

Job Summary

We are seeking a results‑driven Packaging Development qualified with 10+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing sectors. The role focuses on packaging development, cost optimization, supplier management, and packaging standardization, with strong exposure to returnable packaging systems, SAP BOM management, and regulatory compliance.

The incumbent will lead end‑to‑end packaging development projects, drive measurable cost savings, and support environmental and operational excellence initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Packaging Development & Standardization

- Lead new packaging development (NPD) and enhancement of existing packaging for primary, secondary, and tertiary applications.
- Standardize packaging materials across products while ensuring compliance with legal, EPR, and Pollution Control Board requirements.
- Define and continuously improve packaging processes, specifications, and BOMs (SAP).

Sustainable & Returnable Packaging

- Drive sustainable packaging initiatives, including reduction of wooden packaging and implementation of eco‑supply and returnable packaging systems.
- Conceptualize and execute returnable packaging projects for local and imported parts, improving sustainability and reducing waste.
- Support ESG goals through material reduction and eco‑friendly packaging solutions.

Cost Optimization & Budget Control

- Lead cost‑saving projects through localization, material optimization,



and supplier negotiation.
- Track packaging budgets and ensure effective cost control and cost reduction delivery.
- Deliver tangible savings across packaging and logistics operations.

Supplier Development & Management

- Identify, develop, audit, and onboard packaging suppliers.
- Lead commercial negotiations for packaging materials and services.
- Ensure supplier quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Supply Chain & Operations Interface

- Develop line‑feeding and line‑side packaging concepts: JIT, JIS, sequencing, DOL, internal trolleys, bins, and handling solutions.
- Support high‑volume operations handling large SKU and part complexity.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams: SCM, Manufacturing, Quality, Legal, and Marketing.

Brand Protection & Compliance

- Support brand protection activities, including trademark and artwork copyright registrations.
- Ensure packaging complies with statutory, safety, and brand guidelines.
