Job Title: Business Head – Retail (Karnataka)
Reporting To: Vice President – Sales & Operations
Location: Karnataka (Base: Bangalore preferred)
Team Reporting: Zonal Managers, Area Sales Managers (ASMs), Cluster/Store Managers (indirect)
Role Purpose
To drive end-to-end retail business performance across Karnataka by owning sales growth, store operations excellence, customer experience, and team productivity, while ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic goals and expansion plans.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business & Revenue Ownership
- Own and deliver top-line and bottom-line performance for the Karnataka region
- Drive like-to-like (L2L) growth, conversion, ABV, and productivity metrics
- Monitor daily/weekly/monthly sales performance and take corrective actions
- Identify opportunities for market penetration and revenue maximization
2. Retail Operations Excellence
- Ensure standardization and execution of SOPs across all stores
- Drive store hygiene, VM standards, audit compliance, and operational discipline
- Optimize store-level profitability (cost control, shrinkage, inventory efficiency)
- Ensure seamless coordination between stores, supply chain, and support functions
3. Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead, coach, and develop Zonal Managers and ASMs to build a high-performance culture
- Drive people productivity, engagement, and retention across the region
- Partner with HR on talent pipeline, succession planning, and capability building
- Conduct regular performance reviews and field visits for on-ground coaching
4. Customer Experience & Service Excellence
- Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional customer experience across stores
- Drive customer-centric KPIs: NPS, repeat business, complaint resolution
- Implement initiatives to enhance brand perception and service differentiation
5. Expansion & Current Store Launches
- Collaborate with expansion team to identify, evaluate, and launch new stores
- Ensure smooth store openings, staffing readiness, and ramp-up performance
- Drive faster breakeven and stabilization of new stores
6. Data-Driven Decision Making
- Leverage dashboards and analytics to track performance and identify trends
- Drive accountability through KPI reviews and structured governance mechanisms
- Use insights to improve conversion, footfall, and store productivity
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Marketing, HR, Supply Chain, Finance, and VM teams
- Ensure strong execution of campaigns, promotions, and local marketing initiatives
- Align regional priorities with organizational strategy

Desired Candidate Profile
Experience
- 12–18 years of experience in retail sales & operations
- Proven track record of handling small format multi store handling, multi-city operations
- Prior experience managing Zonal/Regional structures is a must
